Sorry if it's been done before but... isn't 60 minute makeover quite crap?

It used to be OK, but now they just seem to spend £10-20k on expensive furniture and don't bother to measure for carpets properly! Just watched one today and despite being allowed to 'prepare' they just painted over woodchip in really awful blue. I felt sorry for the kid! It looks like they have been told to curb their budget or something, but surely for all that money they can do slightly better? Colin & Justin do better for far less money! I think i'd be pissed off TBH if 60mm came into my home ...

I watch the first 5 minutes to get a handle on what the story is then go off and do other stuff before returning 5 mins before the end to see what they have done. Both the presenter and the designers get right on my pip but I do like to see the transformation

The finish is dreadful and I honestly don't know why anyone would want such a hash job done on their house. The Home Show on Thursday nights show how it should be done.

It really annoys me when they paint directly over wallpaper! Waste of paint. It should all be stripped down and at least have lining paper.

If I came home to find them at my house I'd go mad, utterly mad. They throw your things away, do a shoddy paint job, chuck in some designer tosh and feck off. It'd make great tv the vitriol that would spew forth from my foaming mouth.

bring back Changing Rooms, at least the 'recipients' were completely honest (remember the 'Tarts Boudoir' comment - hilarious)

My mum once aplied for them to do my house. They got back to her and asked for more details about me not my house, and then eventually got in touch to say no.

I don't think I had a big enough sob story.

I'm glad now though tbh.

I liked one (the only one I have seen) where they showed the people some godawful flower/leaf patterned stuff and left them to "think" on it - they discussed how it looked like the hideous stuff people put on cupboard doors.... then had to be really polite when they saw their new hideous doors

I would have a great sob story! However, there is no way my house would be tidy enough to empty in the time available (which is all day, let's be honest) and the ones they do seem to be suspiciously free from the sheer volume of shite I seem to have in mine. Also I have an entire hall stairs and landing in bleeding woodchip which is probably anchoring the plasterwork together, and if they just painted over it I would bloody weep with frustration...how can you justify spending twenty grand and do such a shit sloppy job? They just whack some emulsion up and a fecking Accent Wall- aaaaaaargh!
