Does anyone else find Kate really annoying?

I was ambivalent about Kate before the interviews yesterday night. I thought she seemed fine if slightly uninspiring. Then she made all those bitchy remarks about women teams at work being what was it?...Bitchy? Emotional? I was very glad that her complete lack of personality was brought up as something that counted against her. Having a mega-watt smile does not count as character. Nor does speaking emphatically with her Barbie doll lips. Jasmina has got some spirit at least, even if she did come across as a fraud in one of the interviews.

But how come she said all that stuff about being focussed on the job when she screwed up that task because she was flirting with what's his name all the time?

notnowbernard · 04/06/2009 22:27

I liked her until that episode, Seeker

I think she's one of those whomen who mistakenly assume that because they are beautiful no other women will like them, so they spend all their time with men instead.

She is hard as nails so could win.
I just think Yasmina is more 'real' and 'savvy'
Kate is judt like all the other managemant graduates - yawn.

I think Kate has probably been able to flirt her way through her career, and that's why she thinks a female environment could be challenging.

I've not liked Yasmina after the food task, ahen she just bought crap though.

I actually wanted the other one(not Lorraine) to win even though she's irritated the pants off me all the way through. I think she'd be a good match fo S'ralan

I liked Deborah too, in fact. She's just very young and obviously thinks that what you are meant to do on the apprentice is just shout at people.

i have a grudging admiration for Debra, if she is that focussed at 23 what will dhe be like at 30??!1

notnowbernard · 04/06/2009 23:01

I was shocked that Debra was 23, utterly shocked

She looks so much older (not in a bad way, just so not 23)

It's the Brummie trying to speak "posh" that irritates me the most about her.

And her "I haven't heard of Blinis but I'm sure we can provide them" on one of the first catering tasks.

And the fact that she's worn a suit the whole way along - let's analyse THAT. Is she: a) trying to disassociate herself from the fripperies of "femininity" by donning the industrious, masculine garb or b) saying "hey guys, with your tongues hanging out at my blonde, shiny-teethed beauty - I MEAN BUSINESS (but my Agent Provocateur is waiting underneath)

Or did she just inherit the suit, (along with a trilby worn tilted over one eye) from some glamorous lapdancing club.

I've been decidedly unimpressed with her from day one can you tell?!

Don't particularly like Yasmin either but at least she's sharp.

LOL Glasjam!

Liking the analysis

Ah yes Deborah was her name.
I was amazed she was only 23 as well. I wish I was like that when younger, without the swearing.
Did anyone else snigger at Kate working in Maccy D's?

wow glasjam, I thought I had it in for Kate(mainly because dh has taken a shine to her and she's the anti-me)

Kate wears SO MUCH MAKE UP!!

Clearly hiding something

Oh come on guys! Of course she finds it harder working with women...lots of them would hate her for being pretty and bright- I would bet money she has been bitched about out of envy!

JeanPoole · 04/06/2009 23:28

i think kaate would look alot better brunette.
that bleach blonde with so much make up and brown eyes looks really naff imo.

i agree with notsoteenagemum
Kate has probably been able to flirt her way through her career, and that's why she thinks a female environment could be challenging.

i think shes lost with these silly antiwomen comments

i can honestly say i would not envy that bleached blonde tango face too much make up look, at all.

I just don't think you are being fair! There are lots of women who can't stand an intelligent woman who is good-looking and give them hell for it! As these threads evidence...

I loved the analysis from Glasjam. Fabulous. Esp. the bit about the lapdancing club. To whoever said women would be jealous because she was bright and beautiful, I would say the following:

a) she looks like Barbie.
b) a degree in psychology and management (even if it is a 1st) is hardly high-powered. Was probably from somewhere crap anyway.

Bit of Fun - are you actually a bloke...or maybe, Kate Walsh herself?

Yes there are BitOfFun but in 'buisiness' there are lots of good-looking, intelligent women, who wouldn't be threatened by each other.
I have worked in a predominantly male environment as a young girl and can't see how anyone would prefer being leered at and joked about, unless you use it to your advantage as Kate probably has done.

I get a bit het up about this kind of thing, having been bullied at school and unceremoniously dumped by people I thought were friends because their partners were flirting with me. I was fine on all-women courses etc, but the minute socializing and people's other halves entered the equation...meh

i find it really odd how some people think she's not liked through envy.
it's arrogant to the extreme really.
as i have said i think her "look" is awful.
i do think she would look nice with natural brown hair and less make up.
but i really don't like that look at all

nothing worse when some womaan who ever they are think no one likes them because everyone is envious

Oh I don't know, I could actually be an axe-murderer

Regardless of whether you like Kate's look or not, it is actually quite unpopular being academic and not looking plain. I don't see why that's difficult to understand? Still, I'm not going to fall out with you about it, but I find it quite hurtful to be dismissed like that. That has been my honest experience, and I am not a complete arsehole, truly I'm not!
