Anyone else?

What a pile of shite.

In fact just watched very interesting programmes about Mendelssohn and Hitlers Family (not that the two are interconnected) and i think i may have a bit of a crush on that Charles conductor guy smile (geeky crush)

foofi Sat 30-May-09 21:18:26

I'm with you.

notnowbernard Sat 30-May-09 21:19:16

You evidently live in a cultural wasteland, then

wink

evaangel2 Sat 30-May-09 21:19:32

stillenacht Sat 30-May-09 21:21:12

PaulaYatesBiggestFan Sat 30-May-09 21:24:56

stillenacht Sat 30-May-09 21:27:26

thank you PYBF - even many of my friends some who have been to the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal Northern are addicted to this rubbish...why why why? Its brain rotting madness.

stillenacht Sat 30-May-09 22:20:42

ok in the interests of actually knowing what i am talking about i have just watched the 'winners' (altho i think thats Cowell et al) on youtube....

no better than a good school dance production imo

PaulaYatesBiggestFan Sun 31-May-09 22:30:50

glad not to know who won

epithet Sun 31-May-09 22:32:03

I haven't watched any of it. Why is it not called X-Factor any more then?

AttilaTheMeerkat Mon 01-Jun-09 08:23:05

X Factor still exists and will be back later on this year. Its a separate show from BGT.

OrmIrian Mon 01-Jun-09 08:24:06

Yep. Me too.

TrillianAstra Mon 01-Jun-09 08:24:50

Great, so we get this stuff all year round. Fantastic. And soon Big Brother will be on again so Channel 4 will basically be a write-off too.

Thank God for Freeview, if we only had 5 channels I woul dbe much more annoyed at how much time was being dedicated to these things.

OrmIrian Mon 01-Jun-09 08:28:27

Channel 4 is a write-off isn't it?

I am obscurely proud that my DC don't watch or want to watch BGT, X-factor, BB or any other similar stuff. Nor Hannah Montana, HSM etc. It doesn't bother them that they can't join in talk about it (as far as I know).

JeffVadar Mon 01-Jun-09 16:42:29

I seriously thought I was the only one... I hate, hate, hate all those programmes! They are a horrible mixture of being incredibly boring and cringe-makingly embarrassing.

[knows this is spite of never having watched any of these programmes] grin.

I can honestly say that there is nothing on I want to watch at the moment except Ashes to Ashes (and that is a pale shadow of Life on Mars). I am also watching the repeats of North and South, and the Charles Hazlewood programme already mentioned.

Other than that - nothing!

Thank god for lovefilm...

Blackduck Mon 01-Jun-09 16:45:18

Can I join? Can't believe the number of threads on here on this subject - makes me want to SCREAM and it'll be BB next...

PMSLBrokeMN Mon 01-Jun-09 16:48:18

Oooh, me too! I barely watch TV any more, only films/dvds. And House, natch.

Molesworth Mon 01-Jun-09 16:59:10

rofl @ "even many of my friends some who have been to the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal Northern are addicted to this rubbish"

Yes, middle class people watch it too grin

mrsshackleton Mon 01-Jun-09 17:51:04

Gordon Brown saying how he's been ringing up to inquire after Susan Boyle sums up everything that has gone wrong with the world right now

Gordo - parliament is in meltdown, the world's a financial disaster, the environment is disintegrating before our eyes, there's war in Pakistan ...

But - sorry there is a "talent" show going on that is far more important hmm

<boak>

I am proud never to have watched an episode of BGT or X Factor or Popstars or any similar shite. I watched about 5 minutes of The X Factor once because my SIL loves it, it was more than enough.
