Wallander - what happened in episode 1? Badly let down by SkyPlus...

Oh dear, last night dh and I settled down to watch Wallander which we had recorded with SkyPlus. It only recorded 1 hour of the programme, so I do not know whodunnit.

I got to the part when four people had been killed,(the ex-politician, the art dealer, the violent thug and the confidence trickster). Wallander had gone back the house of the violent thug and was talking to his son, trying to find out why his sister had gone away and then my recording stopped.

So what happened, was it the sister and what was the link with the young girl who died at the beginning of the show? Thankyou kind people

No it was the son of the violent thug.

The retired policeman was trafficking girls and the thug had given him his daughter.

Daughter's trauma lead her brother to kill the baddies.

Wallander shot the boy just as he was about to kill the retired policeman.

Oh and the young girl at the beginning of the show had been trafficked.

As soon as Wallander said "police" she thought he was a baddie - see comments about retired policeman above!

...and he dressed up as a red indian when he did it too (hence the scalping thing).

I was a bit disappointed. As soon as you saw it was the boy from Skins/About a Boy, you just knew it was going to be him.

It was all a bit gloomy and depressing, wasn't it?

Yes it was, though I was quite impressed by Ken's Swedishness and also by the fact that Swedish police stations seem to have been designed by Arne Jacobsen.

LOL - the glass roof was quite something!

I know; they never had them in Dixon of Dock Green.

I really enjoyed it. We never normally watch detective shows but I thought it was very well done. The photography was super (just don't record in hd if you want to find out what happens in the end ).

Oh and the art dealer had been abusing his daughter - did you see the ever so slightly dodgy painting of the daughter before it cut out? This was the daughter who attacked Wallander.
