So I'm looking to fill my rental queue on LoveFilm and rather than movies, (which we don't usually have time for except at the weekend) am looking for TV series.

Things we like

West Wing (I actually wanna marry Sam Seaborn [be still my beating heart])
House
Brothers and Sisters
24

Not that keen on CSI, but any others we may have missed?

Thanks all

Lost? Not something that you'd watch for relaxation, though; all edge of the seat stuff. Heroes is excellent.

You're welcome to Sam as long as I get Toby. He may be bearded, but I still love him.

Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Nothing like the ones on your list, but I love it, and recommend it at every available opportunity.

The best thing I've seen in ages is Six Feet Under - finished a while ago but hopefully you can still get it. Emotionally intelligent TV! And utterly gripping, and strange, and funny...

The Shield is pretty good too but quite hard hitting

I'm wth PeterCushion - Curb Your Enthusiasm is fabulous. We are working our way through the lot on out Lovefilm account and are always rather disappointed when they email to tell us it's blahdy blah coming instead of the next instalment of CYE.

Our Friends in the North - a classic of the 90s. and the series that made the careers of Daniel Craig, Mark Strong and Christopher Ecclestone.
DVDs are pricey though - but if you can find them to rent anywhere, well worth it.
