DFS argh! They try too hard to link a farking sofa with a 'cool song'. Oh yes, I want to buy that sofa because, I too, want to be a rock star. No no no no.

FunnyLittleFrog · 16/10/2008 13:51

Yeah, cos rock stars do buy their sofas at DFS don't they?

I'm freaked out by that new one for Always Ultra with the little dodgem cars that look like ants scuttling all over the pad. Eww!

The Sainsburys ones are sooo annoying at the moment too - not only have they got Terry Duckworth's old girlfriend pretending to work there but they've got Jamie doing cookery demos too. Just like the Sainsburys near me!!

T mobile (if you can find more minutes)

That hair dye one where the woman is looking at shoes and the bint in the shop is giving her a look best reserved for puppy murderers

ALL sofa ads

ALL online Bingo ads

That patronising aero one (ooh, was he talking?). Aero bubbles float - my boat, he does not

I find really annoying that one where a woman is walking down a high street and people are hiding in skips and under tablecloths - WTF?

Seems to be loads of crappy adverts atm for selling your gold jewellery

Report
themoon666 · 16/10/2008 14:05

All of them.

And, while we are on the subject of adverts, why is that whatever channel I chose on the digibox, it is ALWAYS advert time?

oh - and ALL toy adverts shown at a time when DS might be in the room

The L'Oreal de-wrinkle advert with Andy whatserface from 4 weddings. She seems to be trying soooo hard to produce a wrinkle when at her age it would normally be sooo easy!!! I will imply no more than that!!

Got my nose
Got my toes
Got my head
Got my clothes
Got my eyes
Got my thighs
Got my spleen...

That Muller yog advert, because it plants the song inmy head and makes me sing it endlessly, without clearly telling me the right words

Childrens toys adverts.

They just seem really fast and in your face. The voiceover talks so fast half the time i can't make out what they're saying and just think WTF was that about?

Or is it just because i'm old and my brain is seizing up?

All Finance and Banking Adverts are ridiculous.
Plus IMO - The Consolidation of debt adverts like the C Voderman does should be banned, they ban junk food ad's but allow ad's which encourage people to get into serious debt and trouble.

Ohhhhhh thank-you isaidboo and quarterj - I am so glad that I'm not the only one sitting muttering about gems having no fragrance, and the stupidity of encouraging people who are already struggling with their finances to take out MORE of a loan so they can have a holiday/new kitchen/new car!!!!!

One advert that I loved, though, was only on tv for a short time (though I believe you can still find it on the net). It was aimed at kids, to show them that you can't believe everything you see on the box, and showed a tiny house-hippo (about the size of a hamster) coming out at night to forage in a dropped crisp packet, then roaring at the cat and going off to sleep in it's nest in the skirting board. The background then changes to show the hippo proper size in its natural habitat - to show children how images can be manipulated, I suppose.

Don't know if it worked for children, but all it did for me was to waken a huuuge desire for a house-hippo of my own!

I particularly like the one where the man's driving along to soft musak, and saying, "I love my job, just to be able to help people in difficulty... etc,". You expect the next line to be, "so, become a nurse/brain surgeon/teacher". But no, it's advertising those dodgy loans. Makes me and DH snort with laughter everytime.

yep, that Andy macdoweell one.
and the davina macall one. 'take care'. grrrr. is that the best they could up with to rival, 'because your worth it'?

those sainsburies ones are sooo annoying, why are they pretending to use everyday people when they are using actors we've seen in loads of things before.
and snatching something away from someone (like the ketchup) i find so rude and annoying. if DH did that to me, i would hav to tell him to keep the ketchup

Cillet bang and other cleaning product when the house is spotless but just one item in apparently so dirty it has everything stuck to it, but one wooosh of a sponge and its all off. (with disclaimers on the bottom of the screen.)

AND the Gillette one, with Federer, henry and T woods.
i don't believe they are all together. i hate their ridiculous smiling.
why is it a good idea so hit a tennis ball, football etc at someones hand when they are about to apply a razor to their face!!

Oasis ad, made me scream, the one with the cactus man & the slogan was 'for people who don't like water'

As if we don't have enough of a battle with children & young adults!

I think it has been removed now..
