Big Cat Diary - am I the only person who thinks they've ruined it by going "live"?

What I want to know is why the hell have they cancelled Holby tonight for this garbage?

I'm with you on this one too. I watched to see cats, not Kate showcasing the latest safari fashions and masai tv wannabee.

Bring on the cats, and bring back Saba and Simon King!

I was getting really annoyed last night because I wanted to find out more about what happened to Shakira's cubs and not having them wittering on.

And where is Saba? I know there was talk of having more Kenyans involved and whereas Jackson is very passionate about his work it is a bit odd they would forget that Saba is Kenyan born and bred. Hmmmm.

It's nowhere near as good in this format.

rubyloopy they do make complaints hard but if you look on the BBC Big Cat page click on About and at the very bottom of the page is Contact Us.

Take it from there. It is very frustrating but you eventually get to write a complaint. Definitely trying to discourage people from moaning! Good slogan though, your ds, future tv critic

I agree! Less of the sitting around the campfire and more cats please. Bring back Saba!!

With you on this one - what's the point of chatting around a camp fire in the dark in the Masai? They could do that in BBC centre car park. And Kate (what does she know about big cats anyway?) wouldn't be wearing those awful outfits. More cats please.

I agree to all that too, but have made a decision not to watch tonight as the baby elephant gets it

I prefer it. Its more about the other animals too, and before Im reminded, yes, I do know it is 'Big Cat Diaries' not 'All the animal diaries'! But big cats don't live in a vacuum and I like the wider context personally. Maybe a bit too much wittering I give you that, but I like the live aspect so I'll live with the witter to get that side of it.

I do miss Saba tho...but hooray for Jackson and his down to earth approach, reminding people that actually yes, small cuddly baby cheetas etc do get eaten by other animals and thats just nature and how it works; the sentimental side of it pedalled by the others does my head in!

Yes, apparantly they stalked the heard all day and most of the night, then when it was really dark, took the baby. I am not going to watch it.

I don't know if you remember that something planet programme a couple of years ago, and they showed a similar thing. Couldn't watch that either. I know it nature, but I don't have to watch it !

I was a total wuss and couldn't watch. And I don't care what he says about hyenas, I think they are vile. So there!

The problem with the laughing ones is that they don't kill the prey before they eat it, they just dig in. At least the cats suffocate them first.

Report
OrmIrian · 08/10/2008 13:37

Precisely. I think it's polite to wait until your prey stops screaming before you eat it

That thought just makes me shudder !
