Isn't it/Pan/root even! all more about primal nature forces of earth and so outside modern christian interpretations of good or evil.

Fairies were always outside of definition in such terms I think.

Like you could not trust them but they weren't necessarily evil.

Oh I watched this at the flicks when I was pregnant and I sobbed and sobbed.
