That's odd - I did a "find" for Merlin in the telly addicts section and it found nothing

Am watching it now - is it made by the people who do Robin Hood?

Think so.

Did you know that the castle it is shot in is all real - so the huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge room with the throne is really real size

I have to say I enjoyed it too - it's light fluff but enjoyable light fluff. Plus my DS1 watched it and it's the first time we've started watching a series together. Roll on next Saturday night!

DD was quite scared by 'Gwen' (as in Torchwood, not as in short for Guinevere wtf?), or at least, by the scary version of her, and kept her fingers in here ears whenever she was on. Went down fairly well here, in general. I kept thinking - I bet they're re-using all the scenery and props from Robin Hood.

DrHorrible · 20/09/2008 20:54

Oh yeah - wtf was that "people call me gwen" thing?? NO THEY DON'T!! No-one in history has ever called you Gwen!

ANd was Guinevere originally Morgana's maid? I'm a bit hazy on the legend, but I don't remember that at all.

Camelot is a silly place - as Monty Python observed.

Thought it was ok myself. Bit humourless... could've done with a jokey evil villain.

Quite fancied Merlin.

Have to say, I was a tad disappointed when he took his shirt off though.

ok only watched with dd (13) who wanted to see it.
Not unlike Robin Hood in which Marion sported a pair of Verbaudet purple suede boots the same as my own, I was happy to not at least 3 hopeless wardrobe malfunctions:
1- Merlin has red nailpolish on his thumb when rifling through the witches dressing table
2- when Merlin fell over in the market his boot soles had beautifully crafted synthetic soles without a mark on them
3- I'd recognise that John lewis fabric anywhere ( serfs headress)

PS where is the beautiful Chateau/schloss?

BEt it's in Eastern Europe somewhere - that was where they filmed Robin Hood, wasn't it?

JackieNo · 20/09/2008 21:24

Oh, it's in France apparently.

can anyone tell me if it is scary? we were out last night so taped it

dd2 (3.10) is pretty unscareable compared to her quivery elder sister; is it v scary or not? where does it come on a scale between Dr Who scary (not suitable) or Sarah Jane Adventures scary? (not scary at all)

We liked tihs.
Capp, there is quite a scary bit right at the beginning where someone has their head chopped off, it's what you don't see that's scary iykwim. Also there's a witch, but dd, who has bad dreams abiout witches, was ok with it (she's nearly 5 though)
