Ds1 wants to watch it.

Does it stay boring throughout???

FlightAttendent Sat 06-Sep-08 20:41:03

Aw I am likingit! Ds otoh has fallen asleep on cushion in front of tv grin

The original version was dreadfully dull though.

I was thinking the same, tiredmma... nothing seems to have happened yet

AvenaLife Sat 06-Sep-08 20:41:28

I think so. I gave up about 10 mins ago and came on here. That's 20 mins of my life I'll never get back. sad I didn't know anyone could drag a boat trip out this much.

KerryMum Sat 06-Sep-08 20:41:56

LynetteScavo Sat 06-Sep-08 20:42:45

ladytophamhatt Sat 06-Sep-08 20:44:27

No, it gets really good once they are on teh island.

AvenaLife Sat 06-Sep-08 20:44:31

ds is 9. There's something about a volcano on?

biglips Sat 06-Sep-08 20:44:52

it is boring at the beginning but it does gets better grin

Let him watch it smile

tiredemma Sat 06-Sep-08 20:49:55

ill watch it then.

Threadwworm Sat 06-Sep-08 20:53:19

Took DSs to the cinema for this film and spent whole first hour on edge because of total boringness. But once they get on the island it is jam-packed action and very good value.

wintera Sat 06-Sep-08 20:53:47

It really kicks in once they get to the island. Some of it is very scarey though. The natives are creepy and there are some particularly horrible creatures on the island! Just to warn you!! I went to the cinema to see it when it came out. My nephew would have been 13 and he loved it but my niece who was about 8 or 9 was terrified by the natives!

Threadwworm Sat 06-Sep-08 20:54:36

Yes, those people are very scary. Dito the worms.

theSuburbanDryad Sat 06-Sep-08 20:57:53

It goes on for about 3 hours too long IMO. I only went to see it at the cinema because it had Jack Black in it. But even he's not great tbh.

2Happy Sat 06-Sep-08 20:57:54

Avena, it's a crappy film on 4 with Tommy Lee Jones in.

Damn I'm bored. How can it be only 9?

tiredemma Sat 06-Sep-08 20:59:57

ah!! now its better.

AvenaLife Sat 06-Sep-08 21:02:43

Jeez, this is a bit violent (king kong). The origional wasn't this bad was it? Have they beefed it up? hmm

wintera Sat 06-Sep-08 21:02:59

Oh god those wormy things are horrible aren't they? My sister was in a right state when they appeared! She also suffers from vertigo and couldn't stand the later scenes in New York. They made her go all dizzy. But that was watching it on the big screen of course.

Grumpalina Sat 06-Sep-08 21:07:42

DS1 aged 8 is watching it. He's mesmerised. I'm particularly fed up because I rushed in from work and turned on for X Factor and got this instead!!!

It is reaaaallllyy tedious.

AvenaLife Sat 06-Sep-08 21:15:39

We're loving the gorilla cadbury commercial! grin

theSuburbanDryad Sat 06-Sep-08 21:59:45

See - now why did they drag out that bit with no dialogue with the giant alligator and King Kong fighting? They could've done that in 5 minutes!

nell12 Sat 06-Sep-08 22:27:05

good grief it goes on and on and on!

DH is gripped, I dont think my sarky comments are going down too well grin
