Wesley Kerr reports from LA. Ginny Buckley puts Budapest to the test. Jilly Goolden goes to Malaga for a Spanish dance and language break.

Rowland Rivron lets his children choose the family holiday and they pick the Isle of Mull, home of TV's Balamory

that's so weird, I was just saying to my mate the other day we should all go. Of course I'd be more excited than the kids cheers for that RTKM.

We went last May and were lucky enough to catch them filming - tip off from the Tourist office when I phoned for info!! It was a red hot day and the children loved it - the boat over, the coach trip, everthing. Spencer came over for a chat and photos with the kids too.

BTW - there is a fish and chip place by the monument which has a Egon Ronay (I think that's right) award and the F & C were worth the trip alone!

I thought that beach was fantastic though - was it on Ulva? We go to Scotland often and this year we were thinking of maybe taking the kids to Cornwall or Devon.. no way, mind changed right back. What were we thinking?

tamum · 31/01/2005 21:25

The weather Kbear, that was what you were thinking, the weather

Seriously, it did look lovely. I'm sure they said it was Ulva.

We always go to Scotland in May and we always have good weather. No one believes us, everyone thinks Scotland is rain rain rain. We had to buy extra sunblock last year - honest guv.

The other thing that put me off the South-west was all the people - very popular, beaches packed etc. I like going places where there aren't very many people!! I live in London so need to escape!

I live here KBear May is usually the best month actually, but so many of my friends (who also live here) have had awful experiences the last few years that they have sworn to go South next time!
