Watched it twice a while ago now and didn't spot the JC connection AND I'm an RE teacher!!!?? Need to watch it again now!! From what I can remember though, yes I can see a connection...cool! What are the circumstances surrounding his death in the end?

He was an innocent man who was looking forward to execution because he couldn't tolerate all the badness in the world.

The prison officers knew he was innocent of the crime and asked what they could do for him. Did he want them to let him escape? He said no, he wanted to go ahead with the electric chair because he couldn't stand the suffering any more. The only thing he wanted was his favourite meal and to watch a 'flicker show'
