Well, the trouble is, after Harry Potter it has just started to look boring and pedestrian. None of the kids ride broomsticks and the teachers don't teach magic.

Thing is, as with "Doctor Who", which was first axed after a similar number of years (27) and similar decline in ratings, everyone will have their own personal "Golden Age" - in the case of GH, one which probably happened to coincide with their time at secondary school. The failing of the more recent series has been to concentrate on junior "hi-jinks".

First "Byker Grove", now the Hill...

(How did the Grove end, by the way? I've heard the finmal series was a radical departure but I've never seen it.)
