My DSs loved him too - the carton and the real life version.
They also loved 'Some Mother Do 'Ave Em'.

The more farcical the better!

Slapstick visual humour is something that they can understand at that age. But don't you find that your own lips start twitching with their laughter?

I'm afraid it just makes me cringe

As a family we have recently waded our way through loads of old comedy series which my dds LOVE. Mr Bean is one of them we have watched but they have also really enjoyed "Some mother's" "the good life" and "Fawlty Towers."
I agree it's just lovely to hear them laugh.
