This was on 7pm bbc 2 I really enjoyed it and found it insightful and the children were lovely although I have a feeling there were chosen from more privileged schools

I love this series but missed it and can't get it on catch up yet

They present the kids with situations from the past and our young, self-assured, politically correct students spout about injustice with no reference to the 'general knowledge' of the time. Most of the kids can't even utter a single sentence without saying 'like' and you have the impression they are trotting out what we should expect them to hear. A pathetic attempt to recreate life at the start of the 20th century with kids who behave as if they were in a modern day classroom. It's enough to put anyone off becoming a teacher.

Is it a new series or a repeat?

@Sanglier I totally agree. Whilst the facts about the teaching and classrooms is interesting I'm put off by the teenagers who, as you say, are behaving like modern day teenagers instead of being in character.

@Rainbowsew

Is it a new series or a repeat?

It’s a repeat.

I enjoy these series-they are interesting but I found some of the schools one rather misleading. I think it’s the next one where they look at strict 50s grammar schools and then sort of move on to imply that after that, schools became all outdoorsy and free and easy. Some schools maybe, but not most!
