As above.

I'm not massively fussy with tv shows. I love Corrie, Emmerdale and Eastenders, also Casualty. But I also like Unforgotten, Call the Midwife.

Loved Happy Valley I've already seen that.

Like documentaries.

Only thing I really dislike is reality, never been into Big Brother, or Love Island or anything like that.

Want something to get me excited but also to escape. It'll be just me watching as I'm a single parent so no arguing or anyone else to consider.

So hit me, what might I like to watch?

Easy viewing, Virgin River.

Offbeat, comedy, lots of episodes? Jane the Virgin.

Gritty and brilliant? Narcos

So many suggestions.

Netflix

Special, the episodes are short but it is really wonderful series, it is semi-biographical and Ryan plays himself.

I've just finished Sweet Tooth on Netflix. It was filmed recently so lots of nods to pandemic life.

I really enjoyed it but might not be everyone's cup of tea in that it's a fantasy/comic book story. It's number 1 on Netflix at the moment though.

I enjoyed Life Begins on Britbox. It was on ITV about 15 years ago (although I didn't see it at the time). It stars Alexander Armstrong and Caroline Quentin as husband and wife, and he announces in the first episode that he's leaving her and the kids. It's a good mix of drama and comedy.

I've watched that before but can't remember it, so added to my list

I second Virgin River - really lovely to watch.

Unforgettable with Toni Collette is brilliant. First episode is a bit hard but stick with it. It’s about a real life rape case.

Other crime/mystery - The Stranger was an easy watch. I also really liked the film Trial by Fire (based on a true story) with Laura Dern.

Bridgerton was light and fluffy.

Queen’s Gambit excellent.

I also liked Collateral (misssd it when it was on BBC)

On BritBox - really liked Emily Watson in Apple Tree Yard though there is one shocking scene at end of episode 1 that might be triggering. But it has some good twists. I also liked Fearless with Helen McRory - but more because I loved Helen and can’t believe she has died.

Broadchurch is excellent (if you like Happy Valley - you should like Broadchurch).

I recently binged the whole of Spooks. Excellent. And Ros Myers is an amazing female lead.

Seen broadchurch when it was on TV and loved it but will watch it again.

Will check out the others thank you.
