Channel 4 now. Anyone watching? I'm finding it really hard to watch and listen to. How the undercover police do that job talking to perverts all day using that language I don't know, what an amazing job they do though.

It's really hard to watch but I want to see the conclusion of the man they've arrested.

I had to switch it off as I found it so distressing.

Tippexy Mon 08-Feb-21 21:59:58

I can't think what on earth would possess anyone to watch this in the first place. hmm

Cheersdickie Mon 08-Feb-21 22:09:26

It made me cry. I feel sort of compelled to finish it as it is shining a light on the work our justice system does to protect children.. it’s heartbreakingly sad

DarkDisquiet Mon 08-Feb-21 22:14:19

Not long started watching it on plus 1, and finding it so hard. It's so explicit. Extremely uncomfortable.

AgeLikeWine Mon 08-Feb-21 22:14:58

I’m watching on +1. It’s tough viewing, but we should be glad that some people are willing to do this work.

Sidge Mon 08-Feb-21 22:15:59

Strangely I think every parent should watch it, especially those with children using online platforms. I couldn’t believe how blatant these men are in kids chat rooms. It’s hideous and sickening and petrifying.

It was a tough watch. I felt sick the whole way through.

How those police officers do that job I don’t know.

addicted2spaniels Mon 08-Feb-21 22:19:21

A family friend was a child protection officer, and had to give the job up in the end as the stress was just too much.

Thank god there are people out there doing this job. Imagine trying to sleep at night after dealing with these sickos.

poblwcymru Mon 08-Feb-21 22:19:52

I managed 6 minutes before having to turn off. I agree that every parent should exposed to the reality of paedophilia, how common it is becoming and how easy children are to engage with online.

Personally, I can't think of any reason we don't chemically castrate paedophiles. The man they caught tonight got 4.5 years; he was a repeat offender. The damage CSA leaves behind is tantamount to murder.

duckalemon Mon 08-Feb-21 22:20:04

Saw it up until the arrest: couldn't stomach it.
It was quite explicit in what it showed. I watched most of it behind my hands . That undercover officer must be very strong to keep going

AgeLikeWine Mon 08-Feb-21 22:20:34

The utter stupidity of a paedophile using his actual e-mail address in his real name to attempt to access abuse images simply defies belief. How is it possible for anyone to be that thick?

duckalemon Mon 08-Feb-21 22:22:13

Only 4.5 years?

That man, what a miserable existence he had. What a waste of oxygen.

What scares me is how prevalent it is.

Serenschintte Mon 08-Feb-21 22:28:30

Im watching it on catch up now. Chemical castration is too kind really. And the sentences are far too short.
It’s enraging

Standrewsschool Mon 08-Feb-21 22:30:22

I felt sick watching it. Can’t believe how short the sentences were.

Who were these kids being filmed. Did their parents allow it? I felt so sorry for them.

whymewhyme Mon 08-Feb-21 22:50:47

I watched 2mins and had to turn it off, I'm gutted! I can not believe children are subjected to such a terrible horrific acts and recorded at the same time. I have cryed since i turned it off and i want to go and hug my babies!!
I feel like i need to do somthing to help stop this happening to children but what??

whymewhyme Mon 08-Feb-21 22:52:01

Who are the children, I can't imagain what kind of life they must have! it's devestating.

Pebbledashery Mon 08-Feb-21 22:56:38

I wanted to watch this but I don't actually think I can bring myself to having a small daughter.. It will make me sob.

QueenPaw Mon 08-Feb-21 22:59:51

@whymewhyme I'll post this website. It's photos of clothing/objects that they need help with identifying, it's been posted before on other threads. Nothing graphic

Honestly, I would want to just lock them all up indefinitely. The police are so calm and polite. I couldn't do that. The rage and disgust would be too much. There are so many of these sick, depraved men. It is horrifying.

ParkheadParadise Mon 08-Feb-21 23:03:19

I started to watch but had to turn over.

Groinpainruiningmylife Mon 08-Feb-21 23:05:40

It sickens me how they get such little jail time. They should be locked up forever.

AgeLikeWine Mon 08-Feb-21 23:10:23

‘Baby disruption’.

sad

TheFairyCaravan Mon 08-Feb-21 23:13:15

I watched it. I found it really upsetting. They both should be in jail, especially the first one who had a list of previous convictions as long as your arm. He said he couldn’t be changed so why keep letting him out?

The second one got off too lightly too. He said he didn’t want to cause harm and pain to any children. What does he think happened to them when the images were being made?

I’m pleased that there’s people like the police, in the program, who are able to do this job because I couldn’t. I hope there’s some sort of support network for them.

Pebbledashery Mon 08-Feb-21 23:15:25

I would rather work in the sewers or shovelling any kind of manure than do that job. I just couldn't.

Handsoffstrikesagain Mon 08-Feb-21 23:19:58

I haven’t watched it. I just don’t think I could at the moment. I’d happily see these people hanged. They are the devil walking the earth. To give such pathetic sentences to repeat offenders just makes my blood boil tbh.
