Daughter in tears because it’s ended.

Just found dd 12 sobbing in her bedroom telling me she’s lonely and all her favourite tv programmes and YouTube favourites have finished. I would usually tell her to get a grip but I know it’s her way of reacting right now and so I’m taking her tears seriously.

She’s a huge fan of Ariana Grande so loved Sam and Cat. She’s also loved watching Xfactor and also Dancing Mums on YouTube (she’s a massive dance fan).

Anything else I can introduce her to - similar kinds of things. Either tv or YouTube. She often gets attached to a character and I think she’s just struggling with no role model on tv and never seeing her friends at the moment.

Any ideas for me to cheer her up? I do understand - I used to adore Fame and looked forward to the new episode every single week 😁

I loved the Greatest Dancer on BBC1 and I'm old! Did she see it? It was lovely.

What about the film Flashdance? Another favourite of mine about a dancer.

Yes, Merlin is amazing. I didn't know it was on Netflix but have seen it has been on TV recently.

Does your daughter enjoy drama series?

The next step is something my teenage dancing daughter liked. More the early series than the later ones though she still watched them all.

The Voice, Dancing on Ice, Strictly Come Dancing might be available on iPlayer . Thay had a couple of very young contestants this year so it might appeal to her.

Has she watched Victorious?
Alexa and Katie on Netflix (not singing/dancing) but a good show- me and dd have watched a season in the last 2 days 😳.
The next step on BBC/Netflix
Backstage- dd says that's on sky somewhere (she's very helpful) 😂

There's are lots of old series of American Idol - generally packed with really talented singers and lots of musical genres. So many famous singers started there.

I'm not familiar with those shows because apparently I'm old now (lol) but what about joining a fan forum online if she's lonely? She can post about her favourite shows or if she's arty make some fan art or something to help keep her busy.
