Anyone else watching?

New series started tonight. Bonkers toff from SW London wants to convert a building in a cemetery.

Yes this is nuts! Where in SW London is it though? I used to live in Clapham so I’m trying to work it out.

Wondering what is going to go wrong, no baby, he may well run out of money and fall out with the builders.

OhBollocksToIt Wed 06-Jan-21 21:18:28

Fuck me, the ‘family house’.

SlantyBaws Wed 06-Jan-21 21:21:46

Methinks he doesn't need to worry about running out of money, only disturbing the resting place of some poor skeleton.

Just came on purely to see if their was a thread about this.

I find it slightly sickening that someone would spend all that money on a house for just him and his son. It just feels so extravagant and greedy, especially when he's not 100% sure if he can fund it. Why doesn't he leave out the basement? It would still be massive.

Oh and he's bloody irritating too.

Beachy10 Wed 06-Jan-21 21:29:10

He's absolutely nuts!!

MistyMinge2 Wed 06-Jan-21 21:31:20

What's the betting that he ends up having to sell it?

I keep just looking at the basement, he says “it’s costing me a mill I don’t have” and shouting WHHHHHHY at the TV.

Surely it’ll be dark and horrible.

SlantyBaws Wed 06-Jan-21 21:37:05

Absolutely insane. Especially when he likens his money struggles to any other self builder. Seriously?

And he doesn’t need the space! He’s spending millions of quid and doesn’t even need the space!

SoupDragon Wed 06-Jan-21 21:39:45

He's doing it because the space will add huge value.

1990s Wed 06-Jan-21 21:40:56

But he doesn’t have the money to pay for it. And when you’re doing a self build why would you build for resale value?

TeenyTinyDustinHoffman Wed 06-Jan-21 21:41:12

More money than sense.
And did I mishear or did he actually say "Mary Queen of Scots, your relative" to his son.

He did actually say that lol

wishingitwasfriday Wed 06-Jan-21 21:43:43

I missed what he now does for a living. What on earth does he do to pay a £1.9million mortgage?

SoupDragon Wed 06-Jan-21 21:44:12

It's so removed from reality that I love it and him 😂

WonderfulWinde Wed 06-Jan-21 21:44:43

He is quite bonkers.

Haha kid is a full time boarder to boot !

BigSandyBalls2015 Wed 06-Jan-21 21:45:59

And the boy is at boarding school most of the time so even less of a need for space. The bloke is nuts

Waterdropsdown Wed 06-Jan-21 21:47:12

Does anyone know where in south west London this is?

1990s Wed 06-Jan-21 21:47:48

Did anyone hear what he job was?

“All the money is allocated, I know nothing that could create a need for £100k more could possibly happen”

In steps Covid......

schmockdown Wed 06-Jan-21 21:49:59

I think he's perfectly bonkers. He'll find the cash somehow.

I don’t recognise it at all and I thought I’d walked round every single park and cemetery in SW London over lockdown.....

SlantyBaws Wed 06-Jan-21 21:50:59

He organises extreme fishing trips. What even.
