Go Green with the Grimwades

Has anyone else seen this on channel 5 in the mornings? It has to be one of the worst things they have on (which is saying something).

Supposedly the family are “influencers” who have been vaguely controversial for the level of personal information they share on their YouTube channel. The programme is just awful though. Lots of terrible singing, the family appear to have no chemistry when interacting with each other. The message behind the show seems pretty good - go green. It’s unwatchable though.

My daughter likes it. She likes the singing (ha ha). Likeable kids. But is it just me who finds it ironic that a family with 6 children has been picked to preach about the environmental impact of our actions?

Total fucking drivel.

My kids seemed to be enjoying it though!

Thank god for this thread! I just came across it with my little one, found it so cringe, and agree with @Member740334 about family of 6 preaching about all this stuff.

Cannot be in room with it. Our boys prefer milkshake in the morning to cbeebies, but this is rubbish. My first thought was it's irrelevant how many millimetres of water you use, if you have that many children who will go on to have five or six children. Also the episode where they said you CAN have a paddling pool, but use water wisely, but then proceeded to wash their bloody car made me so angry. The message is clear: kids, don't have too much fun, remember a clean car is more important, and treat water like it's the Amazon rainforest rather than a renewable resource

I’m so glad I found this as I thought I was the only person who hated this show lol and wanted to rant about it since it started on milkshake! They say there going green but my 10 year old niece was watching it my 9months old daughter and pointed out the mum has false nails and eye lashes (her mums a beautician) which both need keeping up to and the old nails and lashes are just thrown away after being soaked off with chemicals! If they really wanted to go green she could start by getting rid of them! But they won’t get rid of their luxuries will they! I think it could be the most annoying show on tv lol, we FaceTime my niece every morning and when she hears it come on she has a rant about it lol

Only just seen this show, but my gosh it is really hypocritical. In the episode I saw all the kids are wearing various matching fast fashion outfits. Bottled water on the table. Sorting out the recycling, but printed off new images to decorate boxes with. Great if the programme engages people to have a think, but this was so superficial and seemed to encourage lots of behaviour that is far from green.

Just watched one. They decided to Reuse older kids clothes ... AKA hand me downs. Not too bad . I think they come across as over scripted rather than free flowing. Dad said he and 2 of the kids are going on a play date ..,. He went in another room and watched them play pretend shop.. I honestly thought he was taking them out out 🤣

I cannot stand the grimwades! They are so hypocritical!! They did an episode on ‘hand me downs’ yet every episodes they all seem to be in new clothes. Watched an episode which showed several TVs in their home aswell as the kid on a console! Then next minute the mums walking out with hair extensions and big new nails. How these kind of shoes get on tv I don’t know!!

I’ve just signed up so I can comment on this thread Grin

Totally agree with the irony! The parents obviously want to be semi famous and know someone who works in TV. It should be ‘policed’ though as it’s ridiculous.

But as well as ridiculous it’s awkward to watch and annoying af. Poor kids.
