Saw it in the Day & Night bit of the Express blush
Probably just like gossip need to panic......yet.....

David Tennant made a joke about Daniel Radcliffe playing a future doctor when he introduced the Pussy Cat Dolls on that daft 'save-the-planet-by-ego-stroking' concert. It's about as plausible as Tony Blair playing him because he was in a comic relief skit with Catherine Tate.

And if it is true, I shall be asking for the love of pinstripes, why??

Iklboo Thu 13-Sep-07 13:42:08

What's he going to say to the daleks/cybermen "Stop it or i'll tell my mum!" or mayber "Expecto Patronus?"

UnquietDad Thu 13-Sep-07 13:44:23

The papers love "who's the next Doctor" stories and they very rarwely have any basis in fact.

Over the years, tabloids have tried to convince us that the new Doctor is going to be played by Donald Sutherland, Joanna Lumley, David Hasselhoff, Michael Crawford, Richard Griffiths, Sylvester Stallone and dozens of others!

David Tennant is officially under contract for one more series and four more feature-length specials until 2009. There may be a new Doctor in 2010. Let's wait and see, shall we?

Indeed. I hate the 'Gravitas' cobblers, but seriously. Jimmy Krankie has more of a commanding presence.

southeatsastras Thu 13-Sep-07 13:45:28

will this one be the last? daniel radcliffe would be awful. daniel craig would be nicer wink

Iklboo Thu 13-Sep-07 13:45:55

Pete Doherty is the new Dr Who (the f*ck am I?)

SueBaroo Thu 13-Sep-07 13:48:01

Actually, I have it on good authority that Vicki Pollard is in talks to be the next companion. Since Rose left there's been a chav-shaped hole in the TARDIS...

Chirpygirl Thu 13-Sep-07 13:48:52

The Hoff? He would be awesomely shite!

Threadworm Thu 13-Sep-07 13:53:23

What about having the timeLord Voldemort as Dr He Who Must Not Be Named. Then we could have Ralph Feinnes playing him. Mmmm, Mmmm.

Peachy Thu 13-Sep-07 13:59:43

Heard this before, although was just one of a few options (Jimmy nesbitt being another)

bollocks idea, cant beleive it for a moment.

Peachy Thu 13-Sep-07 14:01:49

can't stick daniel craig either btw- yeesh

Isn't Pete Doherty supposedly being given a footie team to run for a new fly on the wall thing? More Mn, less TV to watch again then.... <snore>

MaryAnnSingleton Thu 13-Sep-07 14:02:32

whaaaat ? no !!!

lilibet Thu 13-Sep-07 14:04:55

I've heard James Nesbitt as well, really don't think so.

Will be very sad if he gets it.

Eddie Izzard for me

serenity Thu 13-Sep-07 14:05:32

Oh excellent, a new Doctor Who rumour, I love them grin I won't believe it until it's in The Sun of course hmm

There are worse candidates than Daniel Radcliffe though.

MaryAnnSingleton Thu 13-Sep-07 14:06:31

Eddie Izzard would be perfect (in a stiletto, of course)

Peachy Thu 13-Sep-07 14:07:06

See I could live with Jimmy or Eddie, but Daniel radcliffe si barely out of nappies

Cappuccino Thu 13-Sep-07 14:09:07

ha ha ha Daniel Radcliffe

"I have years of intergalactic experience"

<strokes bumfluff>

no I think Dr Who is expat's choice this time

TheDuchessOfFlashman Thu 13-Sep-07 14:10:30

Either very young or much older and redheaded - because DTs newly regenerated Dr was rather disappointed not to be!

serenity Thu 13-Sep-07 14:13:38

Have a scroll through this thread for some photoshopped ideas for Eleven (that sounds so wrong!)

UnquietDad Thu 13-Sep-07 14:25:50

I didn't recognise Ben Miller in that thread until someone said who it was. I thought it was Rob Brydon!

TheDuchessOfFlashman Thu 13-Sep-07 16:35:39

I only like Eddie Izzard doing stand-up. <apologises to the masses>

Mackenzie Crook might be fun. And different.
