tiredemma Wed 05-Sep-07 13:18:26

yes- it is good- the one with the dad?

TheQueenOfQuotes Wed 05-Sep-07 13:18:29

is that the one about "SMA dads"....if so there was a big thread about it about 2 weeks ago grin (I haven't actually seen it)

ProjectIcarusinhercar Wed 05-Sep-07 13:19:40

<Wags finger.>

<Admires grenade>

Aitch Wed 05-Sep-07 13:19:42

i was very shocked at how young that babies looked. they must have been preemies if they were 6 months when the ad was shot.

Bewilderbeast Wed 05-Sep-07 13:21:19

pass the popcorn (and the tin helmet)

Aitch Wed 05-Sep-07 13:23:57

oh god i hate all this pass the popcorn shite. it's a nice ad, it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy, it's sweet, it Does Its Job.

but it is skirting despicably close the the letter of the law, and completely breaks the spirit of it.

prettybird Wed 05-Sep-07 13:25:03

I did think when I saw it that those babies aren't 6 months old.

ProjectIcarusinhercar Wed 05-Sep-07 13:54:59

i haven't seen it. But I am highly admiring of Custardo's start a ruck post. grin

Aitch Wed 05-Sep-07 14:18:58

i've only seen it once, it absolutely is a brilliant ad. but shock as well.

ProjectIcarusinhercar Wed 05-Sep-07 14:24:33

you don't think the babies could sit up for babyled weaning then wink?

Aitch Wed 05-Sep-07 14:31:27

seriously, just wait til you see the ad... wink

<hijacks> by the way have you seen the site recently? come and have a look, we've made some changes.

ProjectIcarusinhercar Wed 05-Sep-07 14:48:28

I have not seen it. Will look later.

dressedupnowheretogo Wed 05-Sep-07 14:57:24

i sat with my mouth open the whole time as did my dh he is becoming a bit bf militant recently

i quote 'ay dressedup thats not legal is it there not allowed to do that you should complain' and he followed that with 'oh they'll all be in a tizzy on mn about that'

grin he knows us so well

my mm said it made her cry and i said it made me feel sick

NormaStanleyFletcher Wed 05-Sep-07 15:09:58

is it this one?

PhoenixSongbird Wed 05-Sep-07 15:12:45

I must say it brought a tear to my eye blush. Was mildly indignant when I realised it was advertising SMA.

harpsichordcarrier Wed 05-Sep-07 15:13:40

I think it is very well done indeed.
it also goes to show that the formula companies do not give a stuff about breaking the law because they think they can do so with impunity.
because it is clearly illegal

Aitch Wed 05-Sep-07 15:25:12

norma, i couldn't get yours to work but anyone who wants to see it could also try this. select broadband at the bottom left hand corner and it will play without downloading it.

here

there is no fucking way that last child is 6 months. who do we write to?

(and yes, custy, i too like the advert.)

harpsichordcarrier Wed 05-Sep-07 15:28:12

Advertising Standards Authority
www.asa.org.uk/asa/contact/

and then for an encore you can come outside with me and pee into the wind grin

NormaStanleyFletcher Wed 05-Sep-07 15:30:49

I bet I can pee furthest into the wind!

I'm gonna complain

MyTwopenceworth Wed 05-Sep-07 15:37:23

"For infant nutrition, trust the experts, SMA"

Message nicely slipped in there. I'm impressed. <slow claps sarcastically>

kitsandbits Wed 05-Sep-07 15:39:27

I thought it was an emotional bag of shit!

... but i welled up and tried not to let DP see! lol

MyTwopenceworth Wed 05-Sep-07 15:40:51

I must be an unfeeling freak. The ad just annoyed me. I went <tut> "manipulative."

LaCod Wed 05-Sep-07 15:41:48
