OK it's always been easy watching but it has hit a new low
Jack, well he can only act himself can't he. He can't pull off the geeky, clever nerd. The grieving husband act his cringing
Ruby, the girlfriend they are beyond terrible

@mencken I thoight that about her boobs 😂

It’s easy watching

Just don’t go there. Or midsummer

As everyone ends up dead 😂😂

ChoccyJules Mon 27-Jan-20 09:29:26

SPOILER ALERT

They tricked me in the third one. I thought it couldn’t be the girlfriend because it was the girlfriend in number two. Nope, it was the girlfriend again!

no thieving in the Caribbean, just lots of murder
Gateway crimes don't seem to be a thing on St Marie, those of a criminal persuasion jump straight to murder!

Love this programme. Father Dougal was never right. The last guy was my favourite. My favourite beautiful sidekick was the lass who was the daughter of the bar owner. The bar owner ? Suzanne is very attractive too. I didnt like Dougal's girlfriend. Amazed he didn't have notice to work and was confused about whether he was going back to his flat in London or home to Ireland as he stared longingly at his Irish passport.

Love Death in Paradise. Pure escapism.

I think Ruby is a lot better this series. They’ve calmed her down and developed her character. I think Ardal is better this series than in previous.

Blondeshavemorefun Sat 01-Feb-20 21:29:30

I assumed home to his house where loved with wife in London

Floralnomad Mon 03-Feb-20 16:42:57

So far this series has been terrible, we were watching an old Ben Miller episode at the weekend and I don’t get why they couldn’t bring back Camille or Fidel as the detective inspector . Why does it have to be someone from England , and why is it always a man ?

Standrewsschool Tue 11-Feb-20 11:02:02

Really liked the new inspector, Ralf Little.

BringMeTea Tue 11-Feb-20 17:24:15

Yes he seems promising.

SinisterBumFacedCat Wed 12-Feb-20 00:13:48

I agree I already prefer Ralph Little to Doogle. Especially liked the bit at the end where he walked in and asked why everyone was all there, and when he was told he had to explain who the killer was he was totally baffled.

TheSquitz Wed 12-Feb-20 06:30:18

I liked that bit too, SinisterBum Ralf Little looks very promising!

mrswhiplington Wed 12-Feb-20 10:51:33

Enjoyed the first episode with Ralf Little. Me and DH laughed when he kept getting bitten by bugs, struggling with the heat. All the ailments he had my DH gets when anywhere hot, even this country in the summer. My DH uses an inhaler as well!! And we are from Manchester. I think we might be related to him.grin

Blondeshavemorefun Wed 12-Feb-20 21:31:28

Makes me laugh that every new inspecter actually doesn’t want to be there in the carribean

They all get made to stay by the big chief

SentimentalKiller Thu 13-Feb-20 21:41:02

Is anyone watching now? Are they really pretending that JP doesn't already have a child confused

Very unimpressed with this. Didn’t rate Fr Douglas, but this one is ten times worst. Miserable whingey tediousness, not even funny. Think I won’t bother watching any more.

FadedRed Thu 13-Feb-20 21:47:55

‘*Dougal ffs!

SentimentalKiller Thu 13-Feb-20 21:58:56

JP had a baby in the first series (or rather his wife did)
And they have only just found out she is pregnant, the next day they know its twinshmm

I know. They are pushing the moaning too much

Quartz2208 Thu 13-Feb-20 22:07:05

JP wasnt in the first series that was another sergeant who had a daughter and then left

SentimentalKiller Thu 13-Feb-20 22:20:10

Quartz220
OMG was it. When he met Rosie and fell in love then all his work mates were at the birth grin
That wasn't him?
I do have face blindness (seriously, it has caused many problems in my life) but I swear they called him JP

Quartz2208 Thu 13-Feb-20 22:24:38

Looked him up he was Fidel - saw a picture and couldn’t remember him either but could that Jp was not from the beginning

TulipCat Fri 14-Feb-20 13:32:01

Oh yawn! Another inappropriately-dressed white British man who can't cope with the climate. They really need to move away from this formula.

melj1213 Fri 14-Feb-20 13:53:11

Instead of forcing reluctant white men to stay when none of them want to be there, why not just advertise the job to someone who wants to be there? It wouldnt affect the plots to have a detective who wants to be there, except to reduce the farcical repetitive "I dont want to be here ... actually it's not too bad ... ah go on then, I'll stay - but I have no need to go home to pack/get my stuff/let out my flat etc"

SegregateMumBev Fri 14-Feb-20 15:14:33

Ok, I get very irritated by the inconsistencies and plot weaknesses, so I'm going to list them each time!

1. the phone signal that could only be had under one spot by a tree. Really???? And how was the vlogger managing to send her reports as she wandered around? And the secret phone she wasn't supposed to have was securely stashed......down the back of her shorts.

2. Ralf just happens to be buying candles at the market (which is still going even though they've said it's late and they're quitting for the day) when he spots Dave doing some dodgy deal (hiring a boat?)

3. Dave doesn't notice that another boat is following him on his return to Mosquito island. What were the boats, plural, tied up to? And what happened to the other boat, not Hortense? And isn't Hortense insured?

And that's not even getting into the whole unlikely dried-moss-but-I'll-keep-walking-totally-normally-for-a-bit-even-though-I've-been-seriously-wounded explanation.

Phew! That feels better getting it off my chest!

SoupDragon Fri 14-Feb-20 15:15:23

how was the vlogger managing to send her reports as she wandered around?

By recording them as she walked around and then sending them from the tree.
