Anyone else watching this?!

Poor fella finally thought he had found love at 67 (kept a diary about how happy he was n everything) only to be poisoned by the bastard. Who then killed another person too.

Absolutely heart breaking.
Hope he never found out what was happening to him.

It's unreal!

Did you think Ben was smirking when he was arrested?

FREEM Mon 13-Jan-20 22:03:38

it's shocking.
yes i though he smirked

Pinkbonbon Mon 13-Jan-20 22:06:03

Yeah he did. That whole asking for a book thing too! Just f*cking unreal.

I was watching 'faking it tears of a crime the other day' and they pointed out liars often lick their lips to 'hold back the lies' ect n couldn't help but notice that too.

Damn just when you think the shocks are over. Hats of to the people who had to work this case. Think I'd be traumatised.

This guy is clearly a psychopath. What a piece of work.

Noeuf Mon 13-Jan-20 22:18:43

Is love to know why no one thought to suggest a 26 yr old was unlikely to be that interested in a 67 year old or that being his student wasn't a great idea.

JaneJeffer Mon 13-Jan-20 22:23:24

It's horrible sad

Pinkbonbon Mon 13-Jan-20 22:24:05

Bigger age gaps sometimes in gay dating...?

I'm more curious as to how no one got the wiggs from him.

I am honestly gobsmacked by this guy.

Pinkbonbon Mon 13-Jan-20 22:29:50

Guys a sadist as well as a stone cold psycho.

I can watch most stuff n not much shocks me... but I think I'm gonna struggle to sleep tonight.

It's horrible. And so very sad!

I wonder if he was responsible for any other deaths?!

Cocolapew Mon 13-Jan-20 22:34:43

Me too Noeuf, did nobody think it was inappropriate or suspicious?

Noeuf Mon 13-Jan-20 22:38:02

Cocole exactly - the vicar saying young men sometimes fancy old men, the family who don't seem to have had a clue, the uni/college and students aware he was living with a student, just why did no one think wtf?

Pinkbonbon Mon 13-Jan-20 22:38:26

Yeah wouldn't be surprised if he bumped off other ppl just for the fun/power n they haven't linked it to him because there wasn't the fraud aspect...

Curious to know what the role of the other guy was in all this...

You've got to question the original investigation. Seems like poor police work that no one questioned the alcoholic angle.

Court case details

Goneback2school Mon 13-Jan-20 22:44:58

Nearly the most horrible thing was that clip of him taunting the older person with dementia into getting violent. Evil man.

FREEM Mon 13-Jan-20 22:45:03

I.dont understand why he didn't have post mortem originally.
wpuldnt that have shown the drugs in his system

JaneJeffer Mon 13-Jan-20 22:45:37

People probably thought it was odd him living with a younger man but what could they do?

Glad he got a lengthy sentence.

Pinkbonbon Mon 13-Jan-20 22:48:09

So apparently he was actually found not guilty of killing the later lady. And the other guy not guilty of anything.

Man I hope he spends the full 36 years behind bars.

This is very close to home for me. DH is the best friend of the guy found not guilty. The programme could have shown so much more, Ben Field is a total psychopath.

Pinkbonbon Mon 13-Jan-20 22:59:10

I'd imagine he was just as taken in as everyone else. Lucky he lived to tell the tale.

Oh most definitely.

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1 Mon 13-Jan-20 23:04:00

Absolutely heart breaking .

If he had just killed Peter he would absolutely have got away with it.

He got greedy though and tried to do it again.
