It's on early February, I'm not sure if that's USA or the UK as well, but I think we usually get it shortly after.
Can't wait for Carries crying face to be back on my screen 😣😟

Thought it was the perfect ending.

Hanch99 Tue 05-May-20 21:11:13

Great ending.

Im still unsure who bombed Langley however. Thats been bugging me all the way through.

Now what to watch?

Yesbutisittouching Wed 06-May-20 00:52:42

I thought the ending was great too. Just one question outstanding for me - the opening credits. Did we ever establish the meaning of the little girl wearing the mask? Everything else in the Verdi’s makes sense or has been referred to in one series or another. Except this?

Yesbutisittouching Wed 06-May-20 00:53:26

*credits not Verdi’s. Stupid phone.

PennyRoyal Wed 06-May-20 10:58:35

I always imagined the girl in the mask was Carrie trying to find her way in the world, the mask alluding to her bipolar and the way she viewed things.
I can't remember if she was diagnosed in the story or if she had been known as bipolar as a child.

BentBastard Wed 06-May-20 11:47:07

Penny she had already been diagnosed and was taking medication when we first met her. Her sister was treating her off book so that the CIA didn't know about the diagnosis.

A follow up to my “homeland funny moments” video a while back - for those missing Dana she pops up at the end and lots of weasel boy sneaking around.

species5618 Thu 07-May-20 00:00:14

I assumed the mask meant we couldn't see the real her because she didn't know who she was due to her bipolar condition.

Hassled Thu 07-May-20 17:30:51

Fairly belatedly - it's been a damn good run and thank you everyone for the laughs along the way, the many clever observations that I'd totally missed, the times you've had to spell out the bleeding obvious to me, the shared love of Quinn - too many things to list. I'll miss these threads as much as I'll miss Homeland.

BitOfFun Thu 07-May-20 19:04:53

Me too, Hassled. The end of an era sad.

TheSpottedZebra Thu 07-May-20 22:59:14

Me three! I've really enjoyed discussing our 'theories' and of course, appreciation for the HBJDs (Hot Beardy Jogging Doctors).

Still cant believe that shitty actor Finn, boyfriend of awful Dana is now the world's 'hottest' young actor. Seems so unlikely.

SaulBerenson Fri 08-May-20 09:49:13

Me four although I am a late addition to the threads.

I take it you haven’t seen Call Me By Your Name Zebra?

Fiderer Fri 08-May-20 11:07:12

I'll miss the threads too. Bit annoyed with self for being too impatient to wait for UK airing this series and then having to stay away from the last ever thread as couldn't risk spoiling by foggy head not remembering the last week's revelations.

Best named one still by ZilphasHatpin "Ming the Merciless reveals a secret love for ferrets."

Just re-read it, lots of sadness about Quinn, bafflement as to plot (as ever) and Coco reverting to "Saul is bad" - though that must mean she was wavering at one point grin

YinMnBlue Fri 08-May-20 12:34:37

Has anyone got a link to the first thread? I would love to read the theories and speculations from the start and compare them to what happened smile

(I have dipped in and out under a range of log ins as I am paranoid about MN security / being identified)

Ah, Dar Adal! The good old days. I have to say in terms of the wider cast it peaked around series 4-5 for me. If Jenna and the annoying bearded guy (what was his name?) were offed I wouldn’t bat an eyelid because the characters were just props for Carrie, whereas they used to be more interesting - Martha with the awful husband, John, Lockhart, Astrid etc.

beguilingeyes Fri 08-May-20 13:31:50

Have you seen Yentl? Beautiful young Mandy. Also cavorting naked on a riverbank. Wet.

stumbledin Fri 08-May-20 14:06:13

Have found 66 threads about Homeland ....

And not even sure if I went far enough back. I did a 10 year search!

YinMnBlue Fri 08-May-20 18:24:42

Nice one, StumbledIn.

LOL at Fiderer in 2012 speculating that Vergil or Max might be moles.

Cocolapew Fri 08-May-20 18:29:50

I never wavered,I was picked on 😔

Rubbish Pres is in a new Neftlix thing, Reckoning, he's quite fanciable in it. Obviously not the Jogging Beardy Drs level of dishy, but pretty easy on the eye.
I fear he might be a bad 'un in it though 🤔

I'll miss you all sad

Fiderer Fri 08-May-20 20:07:07

Did I? grin Poor Max, doubted then deaded.

Seem to remember at one (several) point(s) we were suspicious of everyone. Apart from St. Saul. Though also remember fuming at him for being taken in by Hair. Ffs she was a wrong un.

YinMnBlue Fri 08-May-20 21:55:26

In series one there was a really curious moment, Saul sitting in his chair in his house, and he looked down and looked at his rug. There was a close up of the rug, it was of Eastern or Indian design, dark colours, traditional.

We had seen Brodie get his stashed prayer mat out in his garage.

I wondered then if Saul was hiding some pro Islamist loyalty.

Still wonder about the curious rug shot.

Also, do we remember the red headed bloke Carrie shagged one night? Yet there was never a Franny story line about ‘was she / wasn’t she’ Brodie’s Dd.

Cocolapew Sat 09-May-20 11:58:48

I think they did things like that just to throw us.
We'd be speculating what it could mean and then it was never referred to again.

Just caught up with the YouTube videos posted - thanks all! Especially the 'funny' moments one. Good to see Quinn again 😍 And the early Max days!

Whatever did happen to Dar Adhal?
