(1000 Posts)Christmas Day...
Merry Christmas Corrie Fans...
And those who watch through habit.
Rita's in the floor, Derek's in a bind, Gemma's had babies and is going out her mind.
Nick is grimacing nicely, and Sarah's forgot the plot.
And we're all just gathering around and hoping Dev gets shot.
He fired a shot through the pub door to prove to Gary the gun was working. Robert was on the other side of the door but nobody realised he was there.
Adam proposing to Sarah really annoyed me. I hate “life or death” proposals. It’s like theyre just doing it because they think one or both will die and they won’t have to go through with it. I mean what possible worst moment could there be to actually propose? Both in fear for their lives, a rushed proposal and rushed acceptance. No joy, no time to enjoy the moment. Just “yeah course I will now shush”
and it’s not as if you can get married before one of you dies so what’s the point? If you want to marry her ask her after the event when you’re both safe and well and can celebrate. so stupid.
The proposal means that they can organize wedding, it might not happen because Sarah now loves Gary a bit or the wedding will happen but Gary will still be there in the background.
I would love a scene where Ryan and Ali beat Gary to a pulp. In real life either could do it, but for some silly reason, every man on the street is scared of him. He only has to whisper a threat and they back away in terror. If he was a huge tattooed thug, maybe they would. That ridiculous scene where he tied up and gagged Derek, with no sign of any retaliation on Derek's part - Gary was completely unscathed!
I would love to see that too clawdy! hope Corrie writers read this thread!! (In which case why didn’t you kill off fizz you muppets?)
Michelle's been shot and survived once, I suggest a different method is tried next time.
Coronation Street these days is a load of boring old shit. Eastenders is the superior soap by a country mile.
Wonder what will happen with Shona, the actress IRL needs an exit story for maternity leave, they wont leave her in a coma for 9 months will they?
Theyll probably have her in hospital for weeks then home in bed recovering and there'll just be references made to her 🙄
She might have to go away for a lengthy period of rehabilitation.

That's the 21st century equivalent of when Tracy (as a child) was sent upstairs & then years later would come back down again played by a completely different actress.
Having just recently come back to Coro after a few years absence, one thing I have noticed is the programme is too quiet/still in doesn't have really any background noise or not enough extras.
This really shows in the Rovers scenes. The pub looks spare slightly dead even when it's got a few people in it, compared to the Queen Vic which appears full of movement & life even if it's just Mick & L in the pub.
Where does Gary live?
At one time he was living in a platonic relationship with Izzie, so he could help out with his son. He also visited (rarely) Nicola to see his son with her, but he seems to be forgotten about by both Gary and the scriptwriters.
Good question @Poetryinaction I think he was living with Izzy at one point but no idea now, last thing I remember was him and Sarah on lilos at the Platts'.
Did Gary just buy a flat at Victoria Court (or whatever it's called) ?
I don't know why they insist on doing big storylines when women are going on maternity leave.
When other characters just disappear for ages. Simon for example.
Gary is Corries version of Dirty Den
So weird he was questioned by the police in Maria's flat without her there. They need to mention where he lives!

This was glaringly obvious when it was Rita’s “party”. There was one scene where Gary was at the bar and turned to talk to Rita and there was literally only him at the bar or around it. Big empty floor space. It couldn’t have looked more like a TV set if it tried. I expected the walls to start wobbling next. back in classic Corrie there is always background stuff going on.
How long do we think it'll take before Kym Marsh is back? I'm guessing less than a year. She's leaving to "try new things" which usually goes really well for Corrie actors...
Why did fizz not stick to the story of it not being same gun, that it was the ornamental one they have in shop.
Why has Carla been so cool about what they did to Robert? She barely flinched. Is Shona going out of it properly then? Will David go all terminator again?
Has anyone else noticed that when ever they are in the bistro it sounds like they are at the side of the M6 with a load of traffic noise.
DH pointed it out and I can’t I hear it now
That should have been can’t not hear it now
Gary is Corries version of Dirty Den
The Poundland version!
That scene tonight when he chucked his phone in Maria’s flat and she had to tell Liam “it’s ok” sent chills down my spine. He’s in her flat, her child was there, he scared her and her instant reaction wasn’t “leave now!”. I think they’re going to go down a DV storyline there. Pregnancy is a very common time for DV to start.
Cautionary I would be surprised if it is traffic as the main road outside the Corrie studio is partially closed, as they are extending the tramlines. Ironically Corrie had a tram crash, but objected to 🚊 going past the studio
