Thought it was a very brave/thoughtful piece of television..
Raised lots of ethical issues.
Very well acted (and I think they used 'real' people in it too)

What happened in the end? I saw some of it - where they found out she was pg and Richard was told to back off.

mum got her a pill over the internet and she had horrible miscarriage ended up in hospital...

dad met Richard and liked him and thought she she be sterilised so she could have an adult sexual life - mum disagreed, they had to go to court - lots of experts making different assessments.

Judge came down on the side of the mother because he believed it would ruin mother/daughter relationship if court decided on sterilisation, amd he believed their relationship (mum as primary carer was most important)

Dad ends up telling police what mum had done...

Oh, how shocking - I saw up to where she was getting the credit card for the pill.

Was it based on fact?

No don't think on any one 'real' case - more an amalgamation of various ethical dilemmas faced in such circumstances I think.

Very thought provoking - the rights of the individual etc...
