Just watched the first two episodes and I'm hooked. Getting ER vibes!

I wanted to like it but it annoyed me by getting simple things wrong like ‘the baby’s in distress’ followed quickly with ‘can’t find the fetal heart’ make your bloody mind up, which one is it? I’ve only seen the first episode though so maybe I’ll watch another one and warm to it

Ah, see, that slid past me. I Just enjoy all the drama.

Watched the first two but finding it :

Earnest/Worthy/Cheesy

And people doing things that no one in real life would do or be ethically allowed to do, such as :

Your boss tells you not to go on your tv tour, you do anyway going yeah see you later

Firing like 15 people at will because ALL of them bar one are shit, they of course don't have contracts or job security or tenure or anything like that, even though they have clearly been there long enough to

A psychiatrist getting so involved in a patients life that he falsely uses sectioning powers and THEN tracked down the next of kin of an allegedly good deceased foster carer and hands over a vulnerable child to an untrained unqualified stranger who was estranged from her mother so she can't have been that great

That's in two episodes!

But that's why I love it Grin

I’ve watched another 2 episodes now and it’s still driving me up the wall with stupid medical nonsense but I’m warming to it. I’m a midwife and involved in teaching medical students and I always think it would only take them a few minutes to check the details were right. Did you see the size of the baby that was delivered supposedly at 32 weeks?!

GissASquizz · 16/02/2019 22:42

Yes! Giant! Grin

Madamejosephine wait until you see the spontaneously resolving placenta praevia 😂 (midwife here as well!) and the volunteers they get to cuddle prem babies as opposed to their mothers 🙄🙄🙄

I’m loving it though! I get shades of Matthew Fox (Lost/Party of 5) from the main guy and the psych guy completely reminds me of Jack Black. I’m a sucker for an over dramatised medical prog though. Grey’s Anatomy is my number 1!

I saw the skin to skin thing, what the hell?!

I’ve tried Gray’s anatomy and couldn’t get on with it which is a shame because I also love a medical drama. I’ve got a box set of ER and loved House. I’ve actually impressed my medical students before with little nuggets of knowledge I’ve learned on house Grin

I shall persevere, it might grow on me

I'm watching it now. Wow that's some first day at work. What happened to getting your security pass and filling in all the paperwork?!

I saw this last night. Loved it, the drama, great looking lead man, and it's based on actual experience, all the makings of a good show I reckon.

I finished the series in 4 nights. I enjoyed it but acknowledge it is mainly nonsense. I hope there will be a 2nd series as I want to know what happens to the characters.

Try Grey Zone on channel 4. You won't be able to stop watching.

I'm 5 episodes in and quite enjoying the cheesiness of it all. Have I missed something though, why are all the department heads helping with all the patients? Surely the head of oncology is run off her feet?!

I also want to shout Leave the Bastard! at the pregnant wife - he's only going to get worse once the baby arrives. I've obviously spent too long on Mumsnet Grin

Oh I so wanted to love this as I am a sucker for a good medical drama but I just can't get past all the nonsense for all the reasons already mentioned. I'll just have to get my ER box set out again.

It's a bit twee.

And the main guy pulled a complete dick move applying for the job in the first place.

I've done 4 episodes and I'm enjoying it despite the huge amount of cheese Smile

I saw the trailer and saw him shouting something about ‘anyone who is more interested in money than care is fired’ and had a good old laugh as someone who works with US pharma Grin

I suspect I’ll spend too much time yelling at the the tv to enjoy it!

Just started watching this, the main seems to be channeling George Clooney in ER. The head tilt and twinkling eyes, very confusing.

I love it, completely cheesy nonsense escapism. I don't want to wait for the next episodes. Is it June? Think it's June.

Sunburst, there's a caption on Prime saying 'new episodes in x month'. I can't look at the moment. I think it's June though. Grin
