Katie Hopkins from The Apprentice - the legend continues - she is even in a union magazine

A friend showed me their union magazine, Profile, because there was an article about her in there. The article is entitled "Fired - and no union to back her". The branch secretary had witnessed her arrival and departure from the Met Office in Exeter and said that there was nothing the union could do because she had not joined. Oh what a shame.

Apparently she came in, went up to the meeting room, was handed a letter by her manager and then escorted out after she had collected her things. Her sacking came a day after she had sold her personal story to the News of the World.

The article ends with "Hopkins promoted her cause by saying she had done my children thing and would not need maternity leave or any of that bull".

If I was a member of that union, I would have objected to them wasting valuable resources on someone who had compromised their position by their own volition and brought their company into disrepute by their unprofessional behaviour.

Where were they wasting resources? She wasn't a member of the union, so they didn't do anything about the sacking, and the article itself sounds like it's just a cautinary tale about why being in a union is a good thing.

No, what I meant was if she had been in the union, I personally don't think it would have been a good use of resources, imho.
