Anyone else excited about this tonight?

I'm cautiously optimistic.

Bakingberry Thu 03-May-18 18:38:11

I'll be watching. Keeping my mind open but I'm prepared to be disappointed.

SneakyGremlins Thu 03-May-18 18:38:49

I'll watch anything with Mary Berry!

jay55 Thu 03-May-18 19:11:56

I have jaffa cakes at the ready and am catching up on Aussie MKR to warm up.

Bakingberry Thu 03-May-18 20:12:52

I'm enjoying it so far smile

LIZS Thu 03-May-18 20:13:46

Love the Claudia / Mary combo

jay55 Thu 03-May-18 20:15:16

It is lovely to see people cooking normal food and not dust and pollen.

troodiedoo Thu 03-May-18 20:22:48

I really fancy a burger now

troodiedoo Thu 03-May-18 20:25:41

I'm finding the camera work a bit too choppy, like they are rushing me.

Love Claud and the judges though.

LIZS Thu 03-May-18 20:28:08

Liking the Masterchef Australia twist with the winner choosing the main ingredient for next round.

millimat Thu 03-May-18 20:44:14

I like how they could make anything savoury or sweet, as long as they included the chosen ingredient.

MrsTommyBanks Thu 03-May-18 20:45:39

Claudia irritates me. I'm loving the judges though.

MrsTommyBanks Thu 03-May-18 20:48:02

I might get a girl crush on Q blush

Crinkle77 Thu 03-May-18 20:52:09

Love Claudia. Not sure about the programme. It's missing something for me at the moment.

Crinkle77 Thu 03-May-18 20:55:53

I found q bit annoying i am afraid mrstommybanks

jay55 Thu 03-May-18 20:57:42

It'll be better when they have reduced the contestants down.
The two male judges merge in to one for me.

I liked that the cook off was so technical.

SneakyGremlins Thu 03-May-18 20:58:21

I enjoyed that!

troodiedoo Thu 03-May-18 21:03:28

Think you might be right @jay55

Nice Thursday night watch though smile

MrsTommyBanks Thu 03-May-18 21:13:45

Q shows signs of an amazing ear ring collection. And has buckets of being at home with herself.
I also loved the technical cook off. Such a simple dish ingredients wise. But skillful in prep. Genius.

Ickyockycocky Thu 03-May-18 21:18:40

I really enjoyed that, I love Claudia and Mary!

millimat Thu 03-May-18 21:49:27

Who's Qhmm?

ToadsforJustice Thu 03-May-18 21:52:27

Q has an attitude. She doesn't like Pippa.

ToadsforJustice Thu 03-May-18 21:55:24

.... reminds me of The Apprentice or Big Brother. Perhaps they should sleep in a tent as they are cooking inside a studio.

TwitterQueen1 Thu 03-May-18 21:56:30

I enjoyed it. I felt we got closer to the contestants quickly - more so than with GBBO - and I loved the 'ordinariness' of the dishes. Burgers was a fab choice to begin with, though a whole fillet steak is NOT a burger!!!! They didn't really mention the sides though - I wonder what the point is of having 2 sides if you're not going to mention or taste them.

GnotherGnu Thu 03-May-18 22:28:31

Toby was a bit lucky to escape the cook-off after the non-burger and the dense Swiss roll.
