Not forty years ago, but 15 maybe. I loved it too.

Was it really 40 years ago? Wow. I remember watching the very first episode too. I was 13.

Yes! They were the same age as me. I have no idea how it lasted for 30 years though!

No, I was too little to watch that.

I suspect the vast majority of MN weren’t even a twinkle in their Daddy’s eye.

I was a bit young for Tucker and Trish, I remember the next lot with Claire more.

Like sparkers, I was a bit young. But I do remember the absolute SCANDAL of Claire and stewpot snogging in the art cupboard.

YES Keira! I was a bit Envy IIRC.

Started watching in the early 80s. Then watched the whole series to date from the first episode in the mid 1990s when I was at uni and they repeated them individually on a Sunday morning on bbc2 (no Netflix binging then).

Still remember the trauma of getting up the day the clocks changed and realising I’d missed the episode as the clocks were an hour forward Shock

Yes. I was at primary school and absolutely terrified of going to secondary school on the basis of Grange Hill. Loved Tucker. Also Tricia’s curtains hair and massive flick Grin

Loved Grange Hill, but loved Byker Grove more. ( Think I could relate to it more being Northern).

However, one of the defining moments of my generation was probably Zammo off his tits on smack.

Just say No, kids.

I started High School the year they started High School. And I was new to the UK and struggling a bit - to see these other kids struggle a bit really helped me. It was such a good show.

Every episode is available on YouTube! I started watching at the end of last year. My guilty pleasure is a bath every night and watching an episode on my phone Blush I’m halfway through series 5 and Zammo, Fay, Roland and Annette are 1st years Grin

Thanks wizbit I've just found the first episode. My parents would've been in sixth form at the time.

I was 3! Grin Be warned, the first few series have some seriously bad acting!

Yep, watched it from episode 1, I'm close in age to Tucker and Trisha. Amazing programme. Might have to browse Youtube.

Oh and for any Holby fans look out in series 3 for a very young Amanda (Connie) Mealing!

I remember the theme tune like that. It was probably 1981 when I was 7. My Dad wouldn't let us watch it. He said the children swore (I think they probably said "bleeding"....My Mum was lax, so we watched quite a lot. Zammo was more my era. Though I remember Trish and Cathy well.

Yes, I watched it. I doubt my parents would have approved if they had seen it but because it was on the BBC and not ITV it was automatically acceptable because it was a 'naice middle class programme' - how little they knew Grin

Love this! I was an extra in Grange Hill when I was about 15 (I’m 37 now!)
Happy memories!
