Name changed due to needing to change my Halloween name.
As a stammerer myself I found the show very emotional, cried, and could relate to it. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I am pleased it made prime time TV, I hope this will make people more aware of our every day struggles, and not just laugh in our faces or hang up on us on the phone. An act stammerers are all too familiar with. I did a course a few years ago in Covent Garden London, similar to the course shown. I have come a long way since then and have managed to control it a lot better.
It's all over Social Media! Way to go ITV. 👏
What was your thoughts on the show? 😀

I found it very interesting and had complete admiration for the participants.
I wept all the way through it and found it so sad, but understandable, how the adults had made life decisions to minimise their need to interact with others.
The guy who chose to be a long distance lorry driver for example, so he knew he would work alone and have no real need to speak to anyone else.
I felt desperate for the young Pharmacist too. His stammer must have had a real impact on his ability to do some aspects of his job and he looked so unhappy.
They all did amazingly well and I hope they continue to overcome their speech difficulties.
They were truly inspirational people.

I posted on another thread about this programme this morning about how great it was. I cheered when they all managed to say their names first time without stammering.

I also cried, especially at the end when they made their speeches. They should be really proud of themselves. I used to stammer as a child and I could relate to all of them. That dread of speaking to others and people making fun of you. The people last night were an inspiration.

Just to let you know this is not the first series, Mushy from Educating Yorkshire was on it last year if you can find it anywhere.

I thought they were all very brave. Also felt for the pharmacist, not sure how he coped for so long in that job, it’s very public facing. I didn’t see the end but I hope they all continue to overcome their stammers.
