It's that Homeland time of year again

It feels so long ago that poor Weaselly Quinn met his maker that I had to Wiki what happened last season. We were left with an easily-led Madame President, an assassination plot, Saul in prison, Quinn dead in a Jeep and Carrie's distraught face working on overtime.

But it's back! Feb 11th US which I reckon means Feb 18th UK (although last year Channel 4 didn't tell us till about a minute before kick-off, despite my pathetic emailing). . Yay!

How did I guess this was you Hassled ?

Poor Quinn. Poor SaintSaulOfSnacks. Must stock up on his behalf.

I posted and thought "Fiderer must have some sort of alert set up - she'll get the bat signal" and here you are!

I still haven't seen season 6!

I wish they'd put it on Netflix/amazon prime so I can catch up.

I might have to just purchase the box set actually.

I'm not sure why, but we gave up on the last season but this one looks fabulous!

No bat signal Grin but oh, my Homeland Saul-inspired Quinn-inspired finely honed clever senses must be still active!

I wonder if Dar will make an appearance this series. Last time he was locked up....

Report
Hassled · 07/01/2018 20:18

Oh there has to be Dar. He'll be masterminding something cunning from somewhere. I love the fact that we've never been completely clear on Dar's moral compass - he's bad, but he's not out and out bad.

I have to say I can't wait - I'm know that there's loads of good TV out there, but I'm rubbish at getting into series and am always years late to the party (I became obsessed with Breaking Bad well after it had finished). So I end up watching shite and moaning about it, while I wait for the old reliables to come back.

Hurray for hassled!! Grin I have no idea what my username was on the last HL thread but I was there with you all.

I’m going to have to go back and rewatch the end of last season. What season are we on now?

Am not as clever as I thought I was - had forgotten Dar got locked up. Good thing that thanks to Hassled I have a few weeks to catch up on the last series.

I mainly remember Poor Quinn & irritating President woman. And StSaulOfSnacks, that never changes. Or gurning Carrie

HalleLouja · 07/01/2018 20:45

So no Poor Quinn or that ex of Carrie’s we used to call an Angel (Jonas??). We have the president who is taking her powers all too seriously. Didn’t Saul get his pass taken away or something?

What was everyone's favourite Homeland series? Obviously 1-3 were excellent with Brody, but I also really liked the one set in Berlin (S5) when Carrie was working at the Düring Foundation.

Yay...haven't posted in ages but I've been reanimated for Homeland!

  • It's tragic that Peter is no more. Who will be Carrie's love interest now?
  • Is Dar adul still in the frame?
  • will it reference Trump at all?

The last season was so disappointing I vowed never to watch it again. I will though.

Will this be the last series or will there be one more after this? I thought I saw Dar in the trailer but maybe that was wishful thinking my eyesight.

Joining in.
Lovely be homeland but get more and more disappointed each season.
It probably should have stopped a few seasons ago. — when Brody died—

I think my favourite seasons are still the first two - when we really didn't know what Brodie was going to do. That scene when he had the suicide vest on in the State Department was just so tense and so well done. And let's never forget the glory that was the Bearded Jogging Doctors in Season 3.

Mine are 1 & 2 also. So tense, think I watched S1 over a weekend.

Didn't really like the Berlin series - live in Germany & annoyed myself by thinking "I had a bike seat like that" or "I know someone whose accent is just like that - who is it?" and "Oh who lives near there?" when I really wanted to pay attention to the plot. Own fault entirely.

Coco! This season I'm not dissing your insane theory because DS3 has told me at not inconsiderable length how, despite being a goodie since 1945 or something, Captain America was revealed last year to have been a baddie all along - something to do with something called Hydra. So if Saul is Captain America, and I think he probably is, then you may be right.
