We are promised big stars. Well, some 'big' stars. There is a new boyband I've never heard of, put together by Simon in US called Pretty Much . Must be cheap.

Here are the songs they are performing tonight- when presumably one will leave

Grace Davies
Live and Let Die - Wings
Roots - Grace Davies

Dimelo - Rak-Su
Mamacita - Rak-Su

Kevin Davy White
Whole Lotta Love - Lez Zeppelin
Fastlove, Pt 1 - George Michael

Also due to perform over the weekend are P!nk, Sam Smith, Little Mix, Becky Hill (the only Voice contestant to ever have a career)and Louis Tomlinson.

Simon must get cut rates if old X Factorites perform.

Disappointed by lack of Stormzy.

I'm not sure who is doing a duet with who though. Or if that will be tomorrow. Or if Nicole will be half-cut on stage singing 'it should have been me' during Sam's set.

I am feeling a bit better this week- though lingering headaches remain. I haven't had a drink for a fortnight, and can't really face the final sobergrin, so might get some mulledwine and mince pies to tide me over.

I have so much to do. Two wasted weekends have left me with loads of stuff I need to sort. Like costumes for nativity playsgrin. But I'm getting out of taking dd1 to her football match too bloody cold and dh is the manager, after all..

So, see y'all later winebrew

Raahh Sat 02-Dec-17 09:17:42

And apparently , all 3 have recorded different winner's songs. Which is what they did for a few years. Don't know what they are though, but it was a
MAJOR spoiler, supposedly when they let this slip in an interview.

(not really that much of spoiler, is it?)

I really want Rat Soup to cover Slade. <crosses fingers>

MusicToMyEars800 Sat 02-Dec-17 16:27:06

It has gone so fast this year, I will be here with wine and snacks a plenty later, I've been suffering with illness too, so alcohol is medicinal for me grin

Raahh Thank you for the fabulous threads smile Glad you're feeling better.

I like Becky Hills voice it is actually different to most tripe you hear these days.
I like Pink
Sam Smith is just <yawn>
I to am disappointed at the lack of Stormzy, he is great.

Raahh Sat 02-Dec-17 17:24:27

Music I like Becky Hill- at least she has quite a recognisable voice, and has carved out quite a good dance career for herself. I think she's on with Pete Tong.

I like Pink- up to a point- I am sick to the back teeth of her latest singlegrin
And Sam Smith irritates the hell out of me. And seems very, very needy , I don't know why. grin--plus he sounds like a strangled cat--

Raahh Sat 02-Dec-17 17:29:15

I actually put the tree up this afternoon (I know this is an MN sin etc,
and it must go up Christmas Eve ^at the earliest^fgrin but I am utterly unapologetic. ), I have always put it up on the first weekend of Advent , for as long as I can remember.

I like it. From where I sit, I can't the mess at the other end of the room or dh at his desk grin
My mum put her's up yesterday grin.

MusicToMyEars800 Sat 02-Dec-17 17:32:36

grin at putting the tree up, mine will go up at the end of next week, I would probably put it up sooner but it causes wars with me and DP, he is a miserable Grinch grin

I am fed up with her latest single too, but can't get that bloody song 'What about us' out of my damn head angry

MusicToMyEars800 Sat 02-Dec-17 17:35:10

The day is dragging, it's only 17:35pm, and the wine is calling me, but it's definitely too early, especially as the show doesn't start for another hour n 30 mins.

Raahh Sat 02-Dec-17 17:40:45

The fact that the first part of the final is on so early- 7-9pm, to fit in with I'a celeb, says everything really.

There was a time it was the main Saturday night event.
Probably not for a few years though.

nancy75 Sat 02-Dec-17 17:44:54

Evening, feeling a bit disappointed, I thought the final would just be tonight & the pain would finally be over, now we fa e to suffer until tomorrow!
Not very impressed with the star guests, I know everyone loves pink but I think she’s awful, Sam smith is boring & little mix don’t have any pants!

MusicToMyEars800 Sat 02-Dec-17 17:47:11

I know Raahh I remember those Saturday nights too, i'm sure it used to play during the week too?
I'm a celeb is losing it too, it all just the same boring rubbish.

nancy it's to torture us I think. Little Mix have no pants grin

Raahh Sat 02-Dec-17 17:55:53

It will be interesting to see what Little Mix aren't wearing, yes grin.
All these years, working so hard. They still can't afford new trousers. Syco must take a hefty cut to keep advertising them every weekgrin

Raahh Sat 02-Dec-17 17:57:22

I don't watch I'm a Celeb.

Creepy crawlies. grin

mind you, there are some creepy things on on X factor too.

MusicToMyEars800 Sat 02-Dec-17 18:04:08

I used to watch I'm a celeb, last year it was quite good, I enjoyed it, this year it is shit!

Only an hour to go, and we will see what awfulness will be worn grin

The80sweregreat Sat 02-Dec-17 18:20:46

Hi ladies! Glad your a bit better raahh. Thanks for the threads. No tree here as nowhere to put one.. will chuck some tinsel round a picture or lights round a mirror! I’m not a Christmas fan, but nice if you have little kids and my 20 yr old is back from uni, so looking forward.
Agree it’s been a bit crap this year .,Kev is ok though. It’s lost it’s sparkle. Don’t care who wins. Watching pointless now. Will the fun ever start?

MusicToMyEars800 Sat 02-Dec-17 18:30:54

80's I agree, I don't care who wins either, but I do like Kevin, he is a great singer and there's no falseness about him either.

I am astounded Grave Grace is still going, she is dire, and sounds like 20 of the other modern day singers.

Mc180768 Sat 02-Dec-17 18:32:16

Booking seat. DP is an arse and I have visions of me getting slaughtered and brawling on Twitter.

No tree up here. Sick of the DP barking that he is not being a slave to a capitalist society. Every year he does this until DGD arrives then he is all Grandpa ish. I hope he gets stuck in traffic on Christmas Eve rushing around worrying because he doesn't want his daughter to think him mean.

MiL wants a leg of lamb for Xmas according to him. Honestly.

Hoping Shirts winger will not be flashing her camel toe tonight.

MusicToMyEars800 Sat 02-Dec-17 18:35:14

MC grin at the camel toe, she gets that thing out at every opportunity.
Your DP sounds like my DP, I let him get on it, miserable sod he is.

Raahh Sat 02-Dec-17 18:36:32

will the fun ever start

Well, quite grin

I want Kevin to win.

But Rat Soup will. Probably.

Grace would be a dreadful winner. The world does not need a Poundshop Adele. I'm not entirely sure we ever really needed the full price version.

i wish Rai-Elle and J and J had got this far. They would have been more fun,

Raahh Sat 02-Dec-17 18:41:34

Dh just sat and watched us put the tree up. He half- heartedly helped when I had a bit of a tantrum over the lights- but he made the top skew-whiff, so I told him to get lost. grin

I get very, very stressed about Christmas. I put way too much pressure on myself for it to be 'right'- and it's always the same. By January, I'll be back at the gp, adjusting my meds, and promising not to get stressed next year.

Whilst dd2 is only little , I'm trying to enjoy the 'kid' stuff that the older two aren't so fussed about now. It's her last chance to be in a nativity this year she's got two bloody lines as a narrator , and I'm a bit sad about that.

Raahh Sat 02-Dec-17 18:46:14

Oh- and I didn't admit that when I went to our local lights switch on- we actually left about 5 minutes before the actual lights went on.
(Only so many Boyzlife songs a girl can take). So, I didn't see the 'tree' and lights in all their glory until Wednesday.

OMG. It's like the red light district. It's like our shopping centre has been sponsored by Iceland (the shop)- all the lights around all the shops are just red. The tree is tiny and white, with flashing red lights. It is quite simply the most hideous red and white vision of hideousness i have ever seen.

GaucheCaviar Sat 02-Dec-17 18:47:26

Hoping for a Kevin win. He's been round my house and eaten my pasta, he's a good 'un.

MusicToMyEars800 Sat 02-Dec-17 18:49:47

Raahh At least if J & J got this far the competition would have a bit of fun and talent in it, I did like little Rai-Elle.

MusicToMyEars800 Sat 02-Dec-17 18:50:38

Gauche shock Behave....

Raahh Sat 02-Dec-17 18:51:48

Music I know. I think Rai-Elle will do ok. And hopefully, friends of the thread, J and J grin will do just fine without Simon. But the fun factor is lacking.

Will be get a Slavko performance do you think? When they bring back all the 'novelties' they got rid of?

MusicToMyEars800 Sat 02-Dec-17 18:53:39

I wonder if there will be a big performance of all the 'novelties' and failed acts too.
