So, finally they all sing together. And the Cutkelvins have a high view of themselves, as the theme is classic British songs- so they are doing an original grin.

I think they may leave.

Here is the song list.

Kevin Davy White : The Beatles – 'Come Together'
Rak-Su : Sweet Female Attitude – 'Flowers'
Grace Davies : David Bowie – 'Life on Mars?'
Lloyd Macey : Elton John – 'Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me'
Matt Linnen : The Rolling Stones – 'Gimme Shelter'
The Cutkelvins: 'Nothing Like You' (original track)

I am not sure what criteria they are using to decide what is 'Cool Britannia' Nut I'd hardly put Rat Soup's offering up there either grin

I'm still not feeling 100% after last week's migraine, so it is touch and go as to whether I will watch . I've been up all night with stomach pains. (I will spare you the rest of the detailsgrin) So tonight I'm drinking water.

Poor raahh! Sounds like you’ve been through it health wise. Wish you better. Not heard of flowers song. Lloyd will make the Elton classic sound like all the others his sung. Graceadele doing Bowie? Hmmm. Might be around. Going to see Paddington 2 later. Bring on the stare.

dillite Sat 25-Nov-17 17:00:02

Oh no raahh who have you upset to be still cursed like that? And are you sure that it's last week's migraine and not listening to your dd's wonderful singing al week?

Roussette Sat 25-Nov-17 17:05:14

Oh Raahh sorry to hear that, we will raise a [glass] to you if you're too poorly to be here, fingers x'd you feel better, and thanks for the thread.

British classics? Ye gods, that's stretching the meaning somewhat. I am not sure I can sit through Lloyd's rendition of Don't let the Sun as the track has particular meaning for me (long story) and I can't bear to have it mangled with Lloyd's voice. To be fair, his voice is good but still...

As for the Cut Kevins, they should be made to sing a classic, this isn't a songwriters competition! Besides which, they should be out just for their silly name grin

Hi all, Raahh I’m joining you in the sick bay, we’ve all had a dose of the winter sickness bug ( thanks Dd angry) so I’m feeling a bit too delicate for my normal walnut whip binge!
How are the stupid kelvins getting away with doing their own song when it’s meant to be classic songs?

The80sweregreat Sat 25-Nov-17 17:09:26

I love this Elton track too. Brings a tear.

Raahh Sat 25-Nov-17 17:36:36

I have just resurfaced... I keep trying to nod of but my stomach thinks otherwise.

dillite Poor dd1. Only 8 out of her class (of28) turned up, and dd1 can't sing, and looked totally embarrassed through her class performances.

I probably caught something hideous from the sick people who seemed t be in the hall...

MusicToMyEars800 Sat 25-Nov-17 18:00:33

I'm here tonight, I have wine <fresh lemon water or nice fizzy for ill MNers>

I missed last weeks, so we shall see how tonight's show goesgrin

MusicToMyEars800 Sat 25-Nov-17 18:28:46

Flowers was my jam back in my teen days grin
CutKelvins shouldn't be allowed to do an original hmm

Alwaysinmyheart Sat 25-Nov-17 18:29:33

Another one in the sick bay tonight, my back went into spasm 2 days ago and I'm currently hobbling around like an eighty year old and have barely moved from the sofa today! Fortunately my lovely DP has been looking after me and is serving me both dinner and Prosecco. 😀

flowers to everyone under the weather tonight, and let's hope for lots of laughs tonight!

On a more positive note, we bought an air fryer last week and it's bloody brilliant! We've already cooked fish and chips and bacon and they've turned out brilliantly, crispy but not greasy, Best Buy ever! 🍗🍔🍕

MusicToMyEars800 Sat 25-Nov-17 18:31:39

My back is very volatile too Always so I feel your pain flowers

Air fryer sounds good, I've been thinking about getting one for a while now.

Alwaysinmyheart Sat 25-Nov-17 18:32:06

Oh and bit of a boast, Nile Rodgers of Chic sent me a tweet yesterday!!! < showing off emoticon > grin

Alwaysinmyheart Sat 25-Nov-17 18:34:12

MusicToMyEars800 do it! I'm really impressed by it, it's so quick and love how the food has turned out so far, we got the NuWaveBrio, was £75 on EBay!

wokingjames Sat 25-Nov-17 18:59:59

The song choices are uninspired, probably limited to what songs ITV have the rights for

MusicToMyEars800 Sat 25-Nov-17 19:02:31

At least it starts earlier tonight, But that will be because of I'm a celeb.

NoisyBrain Sat 25-Nov-17 19:10:18

Oh dear, it's like A & E on this thread tonight!
Seriously though, hope you can all muster the strength to join in the critical appraisal of the show this evening, it wouldn't be the same without you flowers

MusicToMyEars800 Sat 25-Nov-17 19:20:47

There's definitely bugs and nasties going around, my dd's have had it so did I and other people I know.
I hope you're all well enough to join the thread tonight.

dillite Sat 25-Nov-17 19:23:09

always you poor thing! I had that happen to me in August and it was the worst week of my life. I had never been in that much pain in my whole life. I hope your husband brings you all the pros ecco and then some!

Also, congratulations on your tweet. No idea who he he but whoever he is clearly means a lot to you so congrats!

MusicToMyEars800 Sat 25-Nov-17 19:25:23

Always Thee Nile Rogers?? shock What did he say?

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs Sat 25-Nov-17 19:32:44

Hello! Sympathies and flowers to all the sick people. 80s, I went to see Paddington 2 with the kids today, loved it (lovethatbear!)

Don't know how you can do an original to classic British...

MusicToMyEars800 Sat 25-Nov-17 19:33:13

Here we go...

MusicToMyEars800 Sat 25-Nov-17 19:34:16

Why do Nicole's dresses always look like they've homed 100 moths grin

dillite Sat 25-Nov-17 19:35:06

Shouldn't he have arrived in a mini?

Raahh Sat 25-Nov-17 19:35:17

I'm back. I don't know how long for grin
flowers to everyone else feeling rubbish tonight.

In other news- before I fell ill last night, I went to the local lights switch on.
I think that is what did me in. Boyzlife were the head line act. Brian Mcfaddan now lives in Rochdale, and we think he got the tram to save moneygrin. Nothing much wrong with Rochdale, but it's not L.A grin

MusicToMyEars800 Sat 25-Nov-17 19:36:30

An original is not a British classic hmm
