What else is good to binge watch?
I've seen broadchurch.

Going through a terrible time and need the distraction of a boxset that is enjoyable but can also sort of wash over me.

I really like Sally Cartwright as a tv programme writer.

The killing! American version its the best thing ive ever watched it will definitely draw you in and distract you.

Thanks for the recommendations, heard good things about the killing if it's the one I think it is (Swedish version & American one?) will toddle off to imdb

Kbeeb1992 Wed 22-Nov-17 09:57:52

Yes thats the one. I might watch it again!

1wokeuplikethis Wed 22-Nov-17 12:19:10

Looked it up and I've already watched it, just forgot.
You know when you really get into a series and feel sad it's over and want to find something similar... I've really enjoyed watching strong female leads and don't want to watch men. I'm sick of watching men. Sound like a raving feminist but everything is a male lead and so many female-orientated shows are frothy and shite or downright weird (hello dr foster)

Have you see Orange is the New Black?

Last Tango in Halifax is glorious. I’m rewatching it on Netflix and enjoying it so much!

HerNameWasCleo Wed 22-Nov-17 12:29:07

Last Tango is very female led, written by Sally W and has the amazing Sarah Lancashire!

Scruffette Wed 22-Nov-17 12:30:07

Rake!!! Funny and v entertaining.

AstridWhite Wed 22-Nov-17 12:33:37

Line of Duty

JaneJeffer Wed 22-Nov-17 12:38:57

Liar. The one with Joanne Froggatt.

Judashascomeintosomemoney Wed 22-Nov-17 12:41:08

Definitely No Offence and all of the Line of Duty series.

Judashascomeintosomemoney Wed 22-Nov-17 12:44:23

Also, The Replacement, though that probably qualifies for the Dr Foster weird award. grin

ImAMarshmellow Wed 22-Nov-17 13:11:27

No offence.
Last tango in Halifax (written by sally wainwright)
Silk
Line of duty
Cuffs (I think it was called that, only ran for 1 series but worth a watch)

1wokeuplikethis Wed 22-Nov-17 15:42:16

Thanks everyone, got some good suggestions there to keep me going smile

CheshireSplat Wed 22-Nov-17 15:44:06

I loved The Tunnel which is a remake of The Bridge which was also good.

And yyy to Line of Duty but you must start at the first series.

qazxc Wed 22-Nov-17 15:50:19

Line of duty
The bridge

The Danish Killing is better than the American one, IMO.

The Good Wife has a LOT of excellent female characters of varying ages. It's soapy in a good way, meaty, topical, fabulously acted and often very funny. I think there were seven seasons in total and I'm very envious of anyone who has it all ahead of them!

dolfinne Wed 22-Nov-17 16:19:36

DCI banks, unforgiven, unforgotten (dont know which is which but both good, one by SW, the other has Nicola walker in from both LTIH and scott and bailey )

HerNameWasCleo Wed 22-Nov-17 16:23:00

Oh yes The Good Wife! Fantastic.

Waddlelikeapenguin Wed 22-Nov-17 16:26:05

The americans

Mrsknackered Wed 22-Nov-17 16:36:47

Unforgotten is really good.

I second Line of Duty and Silk.

Life on Mars, Ashes to Ashes?

AstridWhite Wed 22-Nov-17 18:06:52

And I know it's not remotely related to any of the other things mentioned upthread but I am loving Nashville right now.
