Are you with me? They are the only things that make me giggle with glee at how ridiculous they are!

And Rafael is super hot.

TobleroneBoo Tue 24-Oct-17 18:20:14

Yesssss! Love them both

VelvetThunder Tue 24-Oct-17 18:22:51

Yes! I was so excited when I realised they were back. I love them.

I only know Jane the Virgin but I agree it is wonderful, brilliant, funny, etc etc.
It tackles some brilliant issues, is sensitive and thoughtful as well hilarious!

I too am Team Rafe and love how his character has changed. Petra too, what acting there.
I have a soft spot for Rogelio. ❤️❤️❤️

DW and I have had a really difficult few months. Jane the Virgin was our safe place, away from shitty people in real life.

At the other end of the spectrum of TV, we love Mindhunters at the moment. The story of the beginning of BAU in the FBI, a la Criminal Minds. The glorious Jonathan Goff stars in it to add to the joy.
Have you watched Looking? I often wonder how the characters are doing since I last saw them smile

DrRisotto Tue 24-Oct-17 19:58:09

Yay! My people! Gather round..

I've never heard of Looking, did you watch it on sky/netflix/other?

I'm also a bit in love with Jane and wish the bookish barman from crazy ex girlfriend would come back. "You ruined everything" is the best moment of musical tv ever. In fact, i might have to find it on youtube and watch it again.

DrRisotto Tue 24-Oct-17 19:59:09

Petra/Anezka is amazing! But I will never ever forgive the writers for what they did to you know who.

You mean Price Hans of the Southern Isles? Though other than Crazy Ex-girlfriend and Frozen Santino Fontana is a pretty huge Broadway Star and I've gotten the impression he doesn't enjoy working in tv shows as much as on stage doesn't want to commit long-term to one. I loved him, I Could if I Wanted To and I Gave You a UTI were my favourite songs ever on the show.

I love Jane the Virgin but realised I was binging on it when I found myself internally narrating my life in a Latino accent hmmgrin

I was watching Jane The Virgin on E4, but I presume they got rid. Is it on Netflix? I might need to bite the bullet and sign up, as I want to know what happened!

DrRisotto Wed 25-Oct-17 14:44:46

Yeah I'm watching it on Netflix. You can sign up for one month and cancel the next if you like, there's usually a free trial around as well.

FairyMcHairy Wed 25-Oct-17 14:50:18

Have you watched The Good Place? I love both Jane and CEG and have loved the Good Place so try it if you haven’t already!

I was a bit disappointed in the newest episode of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, but yes it is generally one of the sharpest, funniest, darkest shows on TV (although I also miss Greg). I love that Rachel Bloom and her co-creator really understand that it isn't and never has been about who Rebecca "ends up" with.

Unicornberry Wed 25-Oct-17 14:55:37

I love Jane the virgin!!

Are you watching series 4? I'm not sure if you can get it in the uk yet!

DrRisotto Wed 25-Oct-17 15:14:35

Yes I am watching series 4 on Netflix, it is available! Not all at once like it used to be though, it's a new episode every week.

There's an episode of the guilty feminist podcast with Rachel Bloom where she talks about the sexism she experienced while progressing into comedy which is really interesting. I love the feminist slant on the show because it's just so different to other shows that are completely uncritical in their gender stereotyping (big bang theory).

I've seen that the good place is on Netflix but haven't tried it yet so thanks for the recommendation!

DrRisotto Wed 25-Oct-17 15:59:49

Oh and the big boobs song is another brilliant comedy song.

DrRisotto Wed 25-Oct-17 17:19:43

Heavy boobs...not big boobs. You know what I mean.

DrRisotto Thu 26-Oct-17 13:18:44

I watched a couple of episodes of the good place last night and enjoyed it smile a bit fanciful, escapist fun.

hmcAsWas Thu 26-Oct-17 13:25:55

Thought Jane the Virgin was shite. I only watched one episode - perhaps I should give it another try

Really enjoyed the first series of My Crazy Ex Girlfriend. Second series was good but not quite as fresh and different as the first

They are both trumped by Schitt's Creek though which is funny and clever

Andylion Thu 26-Oct-17 14:26:43

Thanks to this thread, I binged the first season of The Good Place. I’m glad I did.

I’m also a fan of Schitt’s Creek. Daniel Levy is wonderful and I’ve been a fan of Eugene Levy and Chatherine O’Hara since I was a kid and first saw them on Second City.

TheFifthKey Thu 26-Oct-17 14:28:17

I had an ex give me a UTI from too much shagging and his reaction was pretty much identical to that song. I nearly cried laughing at it!

BaDumShh Thu 26-Oct-17 14:32:02

Love both these shows. Best things on netflix!

Rogelio is the best part of JTV, that actor is amazing!

DrRisotto Thu 26-Oct-17 18:48:18

shock hmc such negativity on our shiny, happy, appreciation thread!

DrRisotto Thu 26-Oct-17 18:48:37

I'll try Schitt's Creek asap.

hmcAsWas Fri 27-Oct-17 11:39:17

Sorry for bringing down the mood blush smile

CherryChasingDotMuncher Sat 28-Oct-17 00:06:51

Aw I love both TV shows! My favourite song is ‘I tapped that ass all over this house’ grin
