Last weeks was good, but the ending was a bit sudden.
I like this one so far.

It's really bizarre !
Did I need to watch last weeks for it to make sense ?

Louise They are good, I missed the first one though, The Hoodmaker I think it was called, I watched the impossible planet last week though and really liked that one.

It looks like Poundbury. The glued down gravel around the trees is the give away.

Did he get back to his 'normal' life?

Report
CredulousThickos · 01/10/2017 22:19

He got back to his normal life.

I really liked this one but it was really uncomfortable to watch, Timothy Spall was ideal as the lead because I always find him quite uncomfortable to watch anyway.

I wondered if the son raped the cake girl in a different timeline, they never said what he was arrested for at the start apart from saying ‘she was a teenage girl!’

Did the other commuter say he wanted to erase the damage to the children? So was he a paedophile?

I love that this series doesn’t attempt to explain stuff too much. It’s just, hey, here’s a magical never-built town and the planner’s daughter is fixing people’s lives whether they want her too or not because her dad killed himself. Errrrrr ok.

I like that it leaves you filling in gaps, coming to conclusions and inventing different possible explanations.
There are too many really obvious storylines on TV at the moment, so I find it really refreshing.
Must read some Phillip K Dick stuff.

The hoodmaker was pants but I liked this one. And surely they've given Steve buscemi a good story next week so will give it another chance. If it wasn't for Timothy spall they'd have lost me at the hoodmaker.

I just googled images of Poundbury. It looks terrifying. I would lose my mind if I lived there.

It does look like it was filmed in Poundbury.
That place looks horrible, It reminds me of a development not far from where I live, That place looks like a film set too.

I just looked up Poundbury on Streetview. I definitely like the architecture but none of the streets I clicked on had a single person in them! It's like a ghost town!

Report
EBearhug · 02/10/2017 12:56

Yes, it was filmed in Poundbury.

does it always look so sterile?

Pretty much, particularly if you listen to people from Dorchester. Lots of people hold strong opinion's on it still.
