I used to love the threads on this when I was pregnant in 2015! I've just sat down and it's back on. Lots of tears this time I think. Mum not happy. Sad

I'm watching. It's following the usual pattern. I'm loving it

It's the usual story of one is desperate to go, the other doesn't want to.

That was an impressive financial outcome.

He seemed like a bit of a dreamer. I think she did it for her little chap. He seemed to love being there. I think his job was very up and down and would go in a downturn. Wonder if they went....

I would have gone in a heartbeat. You can always come back if it doesn't work out but I would regret not giving it a go.

I don't mind this programme but I don't like the bit where they watch their family and friend's views on their potential move. Most of them put the guilt trip on.

Guys a total dreamer. They never end up going on these program. Also annoys me they show they properties over their budget. Why?! Makes a mockery of the word budget.

Also doing the spinny flag thing with children is a ridiculous amount of pressure on them and they are not mentally able to comprehend the issues involved

Also the extended family piling on guilt saying they don't want them to go. Butt out or be supportive of their decision making.

Hopefully homes under the hammer will calm me down. Grin

I am also watching HUTH to calm me down. He was a bit of a faff wasn't he with his wanting to work with wine Hmm they showed them the stair house that could potetionally fatally injure the toddler and then the family sayi g i loves you don't go least the bacon was cheaper Grin

The annoying thing was that it seemed as though the financial was based on their possible top salaries.

She was told it was likely she would earn much less and he has to get a job first! It's not that easy in Australia these days, yes- the wine industry is big but so is the workforce!

He was doing crappy filler jobs in the U.K. so of course he was going to earn more IF he got his dream job.

I do love the programme but it makes me so angry. They are on holiday OF COURSE THEY ARE HAVING A GREAT TIME! Grrr.

He was putting a lot of pressure on her and taking the top salaries and working out the financials is plain daft. They need to get jobs first. I suspect that she would end up supporting him and his dreams.

Having said that Belfast is hardly Belgravia (sorry!). I would go, try it, renting is sensible and if it doesn't work out hey ho. Can you tell that I was keen to go many many years ago using my DH job prospects.

He didn't have the nerve and didn't want to leave his family so he didn't even apply but at the time there were plenty of roles for him with his experience over there. I still think about what would have happened....

I'd certainly give it a try. But my first question would be about spiders. They should have a spider segment.

Checking in - not been on the MN WDU thread since 2013.

I don't think they've mentioned what he does. He's driving me up the wall though.

What's he freaking out for?

This is hilarious I've never seen such a strong reaction to a house. Calm down lad!

They seem like a nice family though. I too would move because of the cat like the little girl Grin

Just tuned in as well! Was he just crying because of the budget? Not judging, just asking Smile

TheChippendenSpook · 15/08/2017 09:34

Oh was it the house he was crying at?

Heatherbell1978 · 15/08/2017 09:38

Seen this one before and the guy is sooo annoying...standard 'I want to move to one of the most expensive cities in the world and I'm shocked my average UK budget can't buy me a mansion with pool..'. I do love this programme but I find the naivety of the people on it infuriating!

Are they thinking of going after her mat leave ends? They'll both need jobs.

Report
cushioncovers · 15/08/2017 09:39

They both have good jobs so that's encouraging

Why do they keep sending them to the zoo?
Of course they're going to enjoy a nice day out... I would if I went somewhere I'd never been before!

A week away is not the same as living somewhere week in week out. Maybe they should send them to work for the whole week instead of sauntering around the place having fun Grin

This guy loved NZ on his gap year - how can he not see that it would be different if you were living and working there?

And why on earth did he go onto a dating site in the UK when he wanted to be back in NZ within six months?

The point where they realise the mortgage will be huge....shocker....😩
