SPOILERS ALERT

THIS THREAD IS FOR DISCUSSION OF SEASON 7, EPISODE 2 "STORMBORN"

Come and discuss the second episode in the penultimate series, airing July 24th at 2am UK time! Don't read the thread if you want to avoid finding out what happens in Season 7 but also Seasons 1-6

HBO description of the episode: "Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) receives an unexpected visitor. Jon (Kit Harington) faces a revolt. Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) plans the conquest of Westeros."

Please avoid discussing leaks and production details for Seasons 7 and 8 but speculate away on what we have learnt from the new episode and what it might mean for the rest of the Season and the ultimate winner(s) of the Game of Thrones Smile

Thank you for the new thread. I'm planning my 2am snacks!

pinyata · 23/07/2017 16:45

Best part of having a 6 week old baby ... 2am night feeds to coincide with GOT Grin

I am hoping for Daenerys and Jon's paths to cross. Grin

Also can somebody clear up an ongoing disagreement between me and DP, does Littlefinger know about Jon's parentage or not I am of the impression her does, DP thinks he doesn't?

WeDoNotSow · 23/07/2017 17:03

Am excited. Feel like nothing really happened last episode, it was more setting everyone up. As there are only 7? Episodes this series I'm hoping the plot will steam ahead now.

AryaUnderfoot · 23/07/2017 17:04

He doesn't. The only ones who know about it are Bran and Howland Reed (Meera and Jojen's father).

pinyata · 23/07/2017 17:14

Thanks Aryaunderfoot !

I don't know where I got this notion from maybe from presuming Littlefinger knows everything I can't wait for him to get his comeuppance but can see him being one of the last men standing so to speak

gincamelbak · 23/07/2017 17:20

Is everyone watching the 2am showing?
I recorded last week's episode at 2am with the intention of watching it before the 9pm showing. Uncooperative toddlers meant I didn't watch until 10pm!

Anyway, am looking forward to something, anything happening tonight. Just so long as it isn't more Dany silently emoting at rocks.

MyOtherProfile · 23/07/2017 17:22

Yes it felt like drawing us all together and getting us in the mood. I'm in the mood now!

FadedRed · 23/07/2017 17:25

Surely the unexpected visitor is Olena Tyrell, it's in the trailer?

AryaUnderfoot · 23/07/2017 17:29

No worries pinyata.

I can't stand Littlefinger! I'm surprised he's lasted this long. I hope Sansa finally wakes up to him (again) this season.

Gingersstuff · 23/07/2017 17:33

I really, really hope that the thing I've most wanted to happen in GoT since season 1, happens in episode 2. If Arya met up with her wolf Nymeria, I'd be the happiest person alive I'm easily pleased

AryaUnderfoot · 23/07/2017 17:34

The HBO trailer shows Melissandre talking with Dany. I think she is the unexpected visitor.

SafetyBird · 23/07/2017 17:35

...

I just want to apologise to Arya and everyone else for the drama I created on the last thread. Even my DH thought I was being OTT. Blush

I loved the shock the red wedding gave me (and I am officially a book reader now so don't roast me for being just a show watcher! Grin ) so I really go out of my way to avoid spoilers as much as I can.

Saying that I love this thread so understand I am taking the risk by being here! No one on my real life apart from DH likes this show enough to want to talk about it extensively.

Anyway, Wine and apologies all around.

pinyata · 23/07/2017 17:37

I can't wait to see how the Sansa / Jon dynamic will play out this season I think this is why am hating so much on Littlefinger cause we know how manipulative and can see him ruining it for the Stark's

And I can not wait for Arya to get back to Winterfell none of this heading south nonsense

SafetyBird · 23/07/2017 17:40

Ginger I totally agree with an Arya and Nymeria reunion!

Mustang27 · 23/07/2017 18:02

Safetybird you need new friends lol

AryaUnderfoot · 23/07/2017 18:03

Oh Safetybird, there's no need to apologise! You weren't being OTT if you have really tried to avoid spoilers. Sometimes it's hard to keep track of what's officially 'out there' (ie officially released by HBO and cast) and what is 'out there' in the general media and what's still an unconfirmed leak/troll.

Mustang27 · 23/07/2017 18:09

Sansa will ruin it for the Starks not Littlefinger we all know he is an arse of the highest ranking however Sansa seems to have learnt nothing and still strikes me as spoiled and entitled, like she has taken no responsibility for the things that have happened to her. Obviously Ramsay Bolton not being one of those though. (I love iwan)Blush.

I am so excited but is anyone in early mourning for the fact the show is on the wind up? I feel sad as the credits roll that we are one step closer to the end. Which let's admit is going to be shit for at least one of the characters we love!!!

Is there any idea of what the spin off will be? I'm avoiding all and everything about GOT except from these threads as I really don't want to know for definite lol.

AryaUnderfoot · 23/07/2017 18:14

Mustang GRRM has said that the spnoffs wil not be:

  • Dunk and Egg
  • Robert's rebellion
  • Anything with older/younger people in the current series.

My money is on either the Doom of Valyria or Nymeria's conquest of Dorne.

Show Sansa is a complete disaster. I blame B&W utterly for writing a character whose actions make no sense whatsoever.
ElenaGreco123 · 23/07/2017 18:26

Littlefinger may know about Jon. He may have put two and two together and worked it out. My gripe with the book is that noone, not even Varys thought Rhaegar had a baby with Lyanna after spending nearly a year having sex at a secret love nest.

facedontfit · 23/07/2017 18:28

Am late to the party, have spent the last 3 weeks watching the first 6 seasons! Really enjoyed it. Trying to keep up with all the storylines/characters, getting more involved with each season.

But the Bran storyline is just not doing it for me, I am finding it terminally boring. I want to fast forward the bits when he is on. I really really dislike it. It's like a punishment watching it that you have to pay to watch the rest of it! Am I missing something?

Marking my place. DS seems to be quite unsettled tonight so I get the feeling I'll be up at 2am watching rather than waiting till 9pm tomorrow Confused

ClashCityRocker · 23/07/2017 18:43

Oh I'm quite bored of everyone rebelling against Jon.

The minute he gets ahead every one starts rebelling.

Middleoftheroad · 23/07/2017 19:09
