Dreadful, I really hope they sort it out for her.

Me too. I can't believe she has coped with it so long. The poor lady.

It's awful isn't it. Poor woman.

Hadn't planned in watching it,nut it's very good. I'm sure if she went to a doctor and described the headaches, they would think she was being dramatic. Even the doctor seemed shocked at the pain she was in, poor woman.

I like this programme cos he can look at everything.

I think that's exactly it - she has probably tried to describe this countless times. The doctor seemed really shocked when she was talking about suicide and dignitas.

Yes, it's dreadful. Poor woman. I hope the doctor can help her.

However, I feel a little uncomfortable about how the children are encouraged to hold her hand whilst she is in pain and, the 9 year old in particular, was left to look after her. I'm not sure if it's good for them to be so involved or not, but my gut tells me not. I am of course coming from the perspective of someone who hasn't experienced this pain so can't judge, but I know when I have injuries/suffer pain from accidents etc when my children are around I try and hide it from them, so I wondered.

He'd be horrified if he came to my house. I have sciatica and was up a ladder painting, last night. 😳My doctor said I wasn't even to vacuum, for a month! 😮 Walking is ok, though. But if I don't do it, no one will.

It must be hard for the children but I think the issue was the 2 year old needed her dad and the boy steps in to comfort his mum. I don't know what the answer would be really.

I wonder how she copes when her dh is on nights when she has an attack she said they were worse then

And what about when he's doing days and the 9 year old is at school? What happens then?

Report
foxessocks · 15/05/2017 21:35

Also true. She must have to cope alone. That must be incredibly hard with a 2 yo.

I hope the diet works. Did I hear it right that they're giving up wheat, dairy, alcohol and chocolate for 4 weeks?

Report
foxessocks · 15/05/2017 21:38

Yep that's right, presumably they then reintroduce things bit by bit to see what the trigger is? If it's anything.

I guess those kids are just being young carers like so many other kids. She can't hide it from the children as it's so constant and gone on for so long.

Report
BurnTheBlackSuit · 15/05/2017 21:45

Because it's chronic and the children are aware it's better to have them feel like they are helping than feeling helpless, I guess. So sad.

And this is awful that she's got worse!

Poor woman. I do hope they get to the bottom of what is causing them.

I do feel uncomfortable about the two year old watching her - she looked so worried the poor little mite. I know they remove the Toddler when they're able to and take her out the room, but when she was holding her hand on the floor I really felt for her Sad

Gosh - her neck! How did that not come up after the accident when she was 15?

I'm really tired but I am holding out until the end of the programme as I want to here that she is headache free now.

The other mans treatment is making me sit up straighter and improve my posture!

It's horrible isn't it. The dh is doing a good job of telling the doctor actually she is putting a brave face on but it's been SHIT. It's obviously taking its toll on all of them but she is the one dealing with the pain, I really hope they can help her.

So they have the cause but what's helped? I missed that bit.

Yes we were meant to be having an early night but I've got to know the outcome!

Was it the chiropractor treating her?

I think so. So sad that they can't heal her completely.

As she was OK when pregnant, couldn't there be a treatment based on pregnancy hormones that could be investigated and used.

DH had this once and the hospital were great. The first two doses of morphine didn't do a thing. It was scary. Hospital said come right back if it happens again, there is nothing over the counter that will touch the pain.

Was it down to diet as well? I'm a bit confused as to what actually helped but I'm glad she has improved so much , fingers crossed she continues to get less.
