I thought the first episode of this new series was a bit dull but it has perked up again. Still looks sumptuous and stunning.

Shocked last week when I thought Fabien Marchal had had it - glad he survived but I think he recovered a bit too quickly and easily. Philippe is being very mean to his new wife - she could be a good ally and friend. Poor Sophie

I'm terrible with names so may struggle to keep up with thread but I'm watching. I mostly get distracted by the beautiful shiny hair of the king & his brother. I've never been so jealous of hair before!

I love it. I haven't a clue what's going on or who's who (although I can tell them apart a bit better this series) but I love it!

Montespan is a bitch this series, though. Philippe is hotter than ever and I'm really liking his new wife.

Hello! I love this programme, it's IMHO better this series. Hurry up and get together doctor woman and Marcel dude. Was really sorry the gardener got killed off, his relationship with the King was developing interestingly.

Also disappointed about the Guardian blog - they seem to have cut back on them and only have one for Doctor Who and American Gods for active TV shows atm.

There was a thread. Where has it gone? I've studied this bit of history. I'm loving it. It's relatively accurate but some bits are very wonky! Do appreciate it's for fun though rather than education! I shan't give you historical spoilers

I love it even more now - I binge watched tjthe e first sieries again which helped sort out who is who amongst the brown haired moustached chaps. I love Philippe - he's beautiful.

I have been catching up on my recorded episodes and am really enjoying it, but v sad about no Guardian blog or anywhere for that matter . I used to love watching then going straight to read the review for a laugh.

The scene between Phillipe and Liselotte was excellent, and I nearly cried for poor Chevaller. They are all amazing actors.
