Phew.

No point @ing me though, I have it switched off :)

I reckon Dom is taking steroids - fits in with the random gym scene and the body image theme with his patient. He said something that implied it too I thought. I've just checked iplayer and he says to Sascha " I just want to get back on top of it.... so that the next time someone tries to beat me up..." and shrugs.

Yes, what you say makes sense, Soup - I was wondering whether it was painkillers or antidepressants but steroids would fit better with how he's acting and what he said to Sacha. (Though TBH I would have thought that physically he would've been a match for Isaac, even though Isaac was a bit more wiry.)

Thank you! Realised the last one was full last night and then felt all "new girl" about starting another one Grin Ridiculously thrilled to have been called though! Grin

All the clues last night pointed to developing self-hatred for poor Dom - he walked off when HH was diagnosing the woman with body dysmorphia, and I really hoped Sacha - or HH himself - would pick up on it and follow it up. So that, coupled with a fear of ever being the "victim" again, makes steroids seem likely.

Ooh a shiny new thread. Not seen this week's ep yet but sorry to hear it sounds like Dom is getting another sad storyline. I just want him to be happy!

She accepted the body dysmophia thing v easily.

Placemarking. I need to catch up. Sounds like a lot going on.

Didn't Isaac once give Dom a gift of fitness stuff and a calendar of hot men so he could see what body he could have?

Report
SoupDragon · 11/05/2017 07:07

I was just googling the actor who plays Dom and found this Ames suffers from body dysmorphic disorder; and once weighed nearly 16 stone (100 kg), before he lost weight.

Interesting in the context of the storyline!

Hello to you all, good to see the new thread.

It did seem rather far fetched that someone who has had cosmetic surgery on the NHS hasn't had to have some kind of psych evaluation before - I guess that is very Holby though..

Awwww, SoupDragon, that's sad - he seems so genuinely lovely.

Do we know exactly how Matteo's son disappeared. I only caught that it was 'near a river' - was any more detail given?

Oooh! New thread! Thanks for the shout, but it didn't go through I had to scrabble around on my knees in desperation So glad I found you all Grin

I think the belief was that Matteo's son had fallen in the river and drowned but because no body was ever found, there's always been a question mark over what actually happened. I thought Matteo's speech in the car about why he doesn't want to sell the house was heartbreaking.

Well I didn't see that coming for Jac!!

Report
SunEgg · 16/05/2017 21:25

Me neither re Jac. I really hoped she would find some happiness with Matteo, she deserves it.

I actually quite liked the proposal. Very low key but all her friends and his were they to celebrate with them. Really lovely!

Oh dear, I was quite at sea tonight; unable to remember a) what traumatic events preceeded Lofty's earlier departure and b) the back story to Jac/Fran's recent history. If anyone can spare the time to remind me, I'd be very grateful!

WRT the bits I did understand, I thought Sacha was over-invested in Lofty. Why did the engagement ring arrive in the post? I sincerely hope that Ollie isn't recycling the ring from his first wife whose name I can't remember !

I don't watch Casualty so haven't seen Lofty before, only as a reality show contestant...Wink
The Jac thing was all a bit sudden. Is she going off earlier than planned to have that baby they're concealing?

Hanssen, though right (she is a class 1 bitch) seemed out of character and unusually harsh at the end.

Report
Optimist1 · 16/05/2017 22:49

Yes, Hanssen usually has a very light touch when dealing with even the worst of transgressions. Definitely not his usual style tonight with Jac.

I think HH was acting like the HH of old actually. From ages ago, pre Arthur.

He was absolutely right in what he did. Jaq behaved appallingly really. Not in a manner appropriate for head of dept.
