Me too. Thanks. Been following it since it started as ds1 was born the same year. He's also now a strapping teenager. Where does the time go?

Thank you. They were born st the same time as Dd so will be interesting to see how things have moved on.

Oh wow! I loved this programme. That's so much for the heads up. I would probably have missed it otherwise.

Fantastic - they're slightly older than DD so must be around 16.

BertieBotts · 01/04/2017 08:44

I'm watching the 2013 update now as I missed it at the time. The last one I'd seen was the personality one.

I remember all of the DC though some have dropped out over the years, haven't they?

It's interesting how more grown up the girls are. The boys don't seem much different to the last one I watched.

Sad how many parents have split up and of course Eve's mum who died. Sad

Who wants to put bets on how many minutes in the Sound of Music song will be played??

So looking forward to this ... DD is 4 years younger so it's like a glimpse into the future (in fact I must seek out the last series and rewatch, as that's the age she is now). There are a few photos floating around online, and it's become really hard to spot who's who. I'm crap at names, so without the older photo alongside to go 'so that's Rhianna, and when she was little she looked like ... oh, her!' I'd only have recognised the twins.

Thank you so much! You'd think the BBC would put at least the last series on iPlayer in preparation, wouldn't you?

I'm all set for Monday now, though I'm a bit worried about Matthew's lovely posh granny with Parkinson's. I doubt four years have been kind to her. And the triplets' granny, I hope she's still around, she's ace.

chicaguapa · 01/04/2017 22:48

Oh no! I hadn't thought that about Matthew's granny. I was upset watching that today and you're right, it's going to be much worse on Monday. Sad

I love Rhianna's parents. You can see that the dad drives the mum round the bend, but the way she looks at him you can see she adores him. I hope they're still together as I think they had some problems at one point.

My eldest was born in the same winter as these young people (about six weeks after them) so I've been following the series since the beginning. Their parents gave consent for filming on their behalf, but now they are old enough to make the decision for themselves. I wonder how many of them agreed to continue to take part.

Report
TheSecondOfHerName · 02/04/2017 21:34

They started with 25 children, and the original plan was to keep filming them regularly until 2020.

I thought they lost funding actually, but I think it was always supposed to get further apart as they got older, not stay as being every year as it was when they were little.

Of course in the late 90s there's no way they'd have predicted the current situation with social media. You can find some of the children quite easily on instagram etc which is a bit Shock
