Hope OP of Thread 1, southeastdweller, doesn't mind me starting this, but MNers are enjoying it too much to abandon the analysis just yet Wink

On you go, people...

It was rubbish. I wonder if the actors just feel totally embarrassed when the episodes are aired

Well that show was disappointing... How did Ellen learn to hotwire a car? What was with Paula's comedy fall down the stairs? Why did Ian leave Lia on the window sill?

It's a shame, I like Vicky McClure too (what with her being from Nottingham).

I loved it at first but then it just seemed to lose pace and the end felt like an anticlimax.

I watched the last part today after reading all your comments so the rubbishness wasn't too traumatic. Now where can I go for hot wiring lessons...

HakeLively · 15/03/2017 15:17

I didn't think you could hot-wire cars these days. They are erm, wired differently.

I actually thought baby Lia was on the table outside the window..
Having read all the posts on the original thread (since episode 3) I'm disappointed that no one else is as infatuated with Richard Rankin as I am. On the other hand it explains why I seem to have missed the fact that the character was an absolute arse - I was too busy doing unspeakable things to him in my head.

To the pp asking about parks: when she was pushing the pram that was glasgow green beside the people's palace. Not sure about the other park - possibly kelvingrove.

That was so awful the cast should be embarrassed

I wanted to punch Ian when he turned up at the end smirking like a shit

I still don't get the Georgia situation or why crazy now had her car, or how she could hit wire a car or survived a waterless overdose

SHIIIIIIIITE

Shall .I watch it all again to see if it makes sense? I really don't know if I care enough. I'll see. Yes, the lipstick, what was that all about?

troodiedoo · 15/03/2017 17:04

I really think it must have meant to be for longer, say 4-6 episodes but for some reason has had to to massively cut and edited to 3 so it makes little sense.

That's the only reason I can think of for the finished article being so lame. Laugh out loud moments in a serious drama not good.

I had a horrible feeling it would be rushed and yep - that's exactly how it felt.

Am I reading into things too much or is the inference at the end that she's with or going to be with Dougray Scott?

It was shit!

The annoying thing is the first 2 episodes were quite promising, so we got sucked in!

Report
Cherrypie32 · 15/03/2017 19:00

This happens with loads of tv drama though, Doctor Foster, Apple Tree Yard, both had better story line theories here than what actually happened.

Where did t'other baby come from at very end?

Report
Jayfee · 15/03/2017 19:07

I didn't get it. I thought Ellen was poisoned. Most of all I didn' t get how Ellen is believed to be the psycho and the police arrest Paula. Had they all been down at the station watching it on telly?? I felt really cheated as it was so good at the start.

I asked what was going on with Dougray but I don't think anybody cared enough what he was up to Grin

Was a teddy bear nota baby we thought it was a baby too paused the tv to check

I thought at the end when she walked into the library with Lia, I spotted a bump, and then in closer shots her front/side view was obscured by the large toddler book she was carrying, which I thought was deliberate. When we saw David in the background, I was sure they would reveal the bump in full glory but it never happened!

It's like when you're a school and you have to write a story and then the teacher says it's two minutes to play time. You just write 'and they all made friends and lived happily ever after!' I want the three hours back that I invested in this shite.

MrsJayy I paused the 📺 to check if there was a baby 😆

I still want to know where the duvet cover was from: very pretty! The baby's sage green cardigan is from Next.

Yy about the lipstick. Probably a red herring.

Still want to know why the georgia storyline even came into it

Deadsouls · 15/03/2017 19:29

I enjoyed it! But did note the whole Ellen in the car hot wiring scenario. That was far fetched.
