Anyone watching?
I've picked some absolute stinkers of series' lately but I'm holding out hope for this one, seems a bit Desperate Housewives-esque.

I have just finished reading the book and really enjoyed it. Think it will work well as a tv mini series. Not sure about the casting of Nicole Kidman for her role, but think the other two are well cast.

We dont have Sky so dont think i can watch but hoping they will release as a box set at some stage.

Ooh I didn't know it had been a book! Probably for the best as I rarely enjoy anything on TV if I've read it, I feel they cast the wrong people in the roles, just to annoy me!
We haven't got Sky but we've a firestick, I shall harass DP to find it for me immediately Smile

I've been looking forward to this but found it a bit of an anticlimax! It's following following VERY similar formula to The Affair (seaside resort, wealthy/less wealthy obvious dichotomy, flashback type sequences, courtcase/murder).

We've got Now TV so I'm planning on watching Smile

I really enjoyed the book and I was very excited about this series.

I'm finding it doesn't translate as well to the snall screen as I'd thought. There was too much jumping from person to person and juxtaposition of dialogue.

The book is set in Australia and the series is US-based so maybe something will be lost in translation ...

It very much reminded me of The Affair too for all the reasons mentioned and the filming of water!

Ooh I'm loving this. Maybe its because I love all their houses though, and the soundtrack, and it's beautifully shot.

Agree Reese is fantastic casting. I imagine her being a bit like that IRL.

Youtube her "73 Questions with Reese Witherspoon" and yep pretty much! Quick tour of her house as she answers short questions.

The houses are pretty awesome! The way that teacher handled the strangling was shocking though - out in a big group in public!

I was really excited about this but find it quite dull and the characters annoying

Couldn't get past second episode

Still not convinced that this is translating very well to the small screen. Hmm.

I'm a sucker for wealthy glossy USA series- see also revenge, gossip girl, devious maids, desperate housewives ...

Has anybody managed to work out who is actually dead? I hear there are seven episodes. I just viewed the fourth one last night.

Nicole Kidman is my absolute fave. I think she is great in everything she is in.

I've just found this thread after watching the first episode. It's so slow to get started! I absolutely LOVED the book but I don't hold out much hope for the rest of the episodes. My advice? Read the book if you haven't.

I'm still watching but imo the pace has never quickened

I thought Episode 5 was quite good bit Episode 6 was back to blah.

Definitely read the book instead. It's much, much better. Even with all the Hollywood glitterati, this series didn't do the book justice.

I love the way the therapist is working with Nicole Kidman.
