Game of Thrones! Help!

Literally just watched the first two episodes (yes, a bit late to the party), but I'm dying to know if the incestuous brother and sister get their comeuppence for pushing Bram from the tower at the end of the first episode?!

I know I sound a bit keen, I just can't stand most of the siblings in that family already, except Tyrion and would prefer to watch the rest smugly knowing they will suffer as a result.

I know! And I am pathetically excited. The kids are off to stay with Grandparents for half term week, as I'm supposed to be redecorating the house. I suspect that is not going to happen!

In answer to your OP-yes and no! Keep watching and it will all make sense. The writing is very good:one minute you loathe a character and the next, you love them and vice versa! Enjoy!

Not really! But one of them may surprise you! (In a good way!)

You have to watch! It's really not a simple case of comeuppance...nothing goes great for anyone in that story!

No way have you asked so early ShockGrin

You do know there are 6 seasons, don't you? Grin

It's a series like no other. Very compelling and you get way too emotionally invested but it's just that good.

And, in round about ways, yes. Both suffer. But perhaps not as a direct result of their actions that day.

Yeah, just about to finish season 1 (I have Seasons 1-5 on DVD and have already kind of forgotten about it! Currently fascinated by Daenerys and Drogo...... where will it all end?!

I'm jealous of you watching from the start, try to stay off Google looking up any characters, you'll spoil it for yourself Smile

It's not really as black and white as it seems.

Keep watching!

yes, I almost spoilered by googling how to spell Daenerys earlier...... had to quickly exit screen!

Shit, no, just realised I have spoilered something as it said Daenerys is a certain character's (I won't name in case it's a spoiler for anyone else) PATERNAL Aunt. Based on what I currently know, that's impossible so there is some shittery soon to come that will reveal all! Lesson learned - no googling. Right, baby is now napping, I'm off to watch another episode.

F*ck the hoovering.

Me and dh have just started watching GoT. We're on Season 2 episode 2.

We like it but have not caught the 'urgency' yet iykwim. I'm currently a bit confused by Stanis (sp?) Baranthean and his brother (who they keep talking about but we're not sure who he is).

Also, who is the man who grew up with the Starks and is Rob Starks mate? (Not Jon Snow). He just turned up at his dads (a king?). Very confused about that.

God okLumber I am 100% with you - I have no idea about that last guy either. I have only just realised (episode 6/7) that he's not actually a Stark......

Do you mean Theon? His last name is Greyjoy, his dad (the ruler of the Iron islands) tried to overturn King Robert Baratheon so was sent to live with the Starks aged 10.

There is Robert, Stanis and Renley Baratheon, the 3 brothers.

Don't google anything. Lots of plot lines were explained in the last series and speculating is part of the fun.

Thanks Sum, I think I must mean him! Thanks for the back story. It can get very confusing sometimes.

When I was watching the first series, I found it helpful to have a simple family tree for each house, with a little photo of each character and their name. There was one in the insert for our DVD box set or you could find something from the internet and print it.

That way you have some chance of keeping track of the scores of characters, without having to google and risk spoilers. Otherwise you'll be thinking of them as "the one with the beard", "the other one with the beard" and so on.

I had read the first four books before I started watching the series but I still needed a hand drawn diagram in front of me for the first 4-5 episodes indicating who came from which family!

Omg I am SO excited for you! Getting into GOT was one of the best things DH and I have done 😊

Ps the guy who plays Theon is Lily Allen's brother in real life!

Yy to previous posters who said don't google. It doesn't all make sense but it will.

Oooh you're in trouble now...that decorating won't get done! I started GOT last year, and watched all 6 seasons in one week...I was knackered afterwards but it was awesome. I rewatched them all with DH a few weeks later too.

DH got the box set of seasons 1-6 for Christmas and I've been re-watching an episode a day while I go on the treadmill. Sooo much stuff I'd forgotten or hadn't registered (and some lovely foreshadowing that you miss the first time around too).

Just got to the episode with the immortal 'You know nothing, Jon Snow' line, ahh, good times. Enjoy, OP.
