NCforQuestion · 26/01/2017 21:28

Didn't watch the last series.

I am slightly confused at this point.

Anyone else watching?

Yes! I watched last series and some bits are very vivid and some I've basically forgotten. There was a frozen mammoth with lots of shenanigans trying to smuggle it away and lots of people died- some from an infection via wasps from the it. The explosion was them spreading the infection more destroying the carcass.
I could be completely wrong. I'm only here for the coats and scenery. Wink

PacificDogwod · 26/01/2017 21:49

I think the writers, the film makers and most of the actors were on glue when this was made - I am so utterly, utterly confused and unsettled by it all

NCforQuestion · 26/01/2017 21:58

Ok that explains the scientists sort of, still don't get the guy leaving

SPOLIERS

I am still ten minutes behind due to having to rewind every two minutes.

So, head chopped off, established not the snow ploughing so they are looking at murder. Is the pathologist in a relationship with him? If so, why deny who he is to the governor?

Fuel - governor said she had the authority, but she doesn't due to someone having to sign everything off? Why? And who? And how can they do it if they aren't there such as this fuel situation?

Also, explanation on the sherif please. He disappeared and the deputy I sent now out looking for him? And hif e only police are the two incompetent women?

And what's with the crab guys wife? She is going to Ireland?? And why did the shop girl steal the crab info for him and how?

Sorry for all the questions!

NCforQuestion · 26/01/2017 22:01

Oh and the one that can't shoot someone. Her too. She is the daughter of the sick woman? And the brother punched the governor?

OP posts:
NCforQuestion · 26/01/2017 22:01

And why the hell was the son/puncher walking around with a frigging ace anyway?

OP posts:
NCforQuestion · 26/01/2017 22:03

Wait! The deputy Eric is the governors husband??

NCforQuestion · 26/01/2017 22:11

Coats and scenery, NC, coats and scenery.

AnyFucker · 26/01/2017 22:13

I watched all the last series and remain confused Smile

giggly · 26/01/2017 22:15

More to the point Ken Stott is in it 😊

Foldedtshirt · 26/01/2017 22:18

What is it about him, giggly DH rolled his eyes when I said 'Ooh it's Ken Scott'!

NCforQuestion · 26/01/2017 22:47

Who is Ken Scott?

OP posts:
NCforQuestion · 26/01/2017 22:47

I'm watching and as confused as everyone else, despite watching the last episode of season 1 on Wed night and also rewinding various bits to try and work out what happened. Enjoyed the chat on here last time (wouldn't have understood it otherwise!).

Did everyone see that the entire series is available on Sky Box Sets/Now TV already? Somehow that has spoiled it for me!

IndigoApple · 27/01/2017 07:03

Does anyone else find the younger women in this all a bit annoying?

Foldedtshirt · 27/01/2017 09:11

Re young women, I found a lot of the acting really clunky!
Here's Ken Stott:

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 27/01/2017 09:34

I am in two minds about watching this

The last series I found really unsettling and disturbing it wasn't just the violence it was the setting and the danger of living in such extreme conditions

Can't say I enjoyed it but it certainly kept me watching and unnerved me

diddl · 27/01/2017 15:52

Not sure about watching this as the last series pissed me off vis a vis what happened to the characters played by Christopher Eccleston & Stanley Tucci.

PacificDogwod · 27/01/2017 16:42

Yes, the 1st series pissed me off too!
And I abandoned re-watching it recently as an annoyance AND a wast of time and life's too short for annoying wastes of time!

I shall watch the next episode to give it a chance to bed in and if it does not draw me in... well, I'll be out!

Who reacts to near-bloody-murder in a supermarket/axe-wielding Angry Man as the Governor did?!
It is all so weird and unconvincing and contrived and if the 'solution' is going to be some kind of defrosted zombie bug from that mammoth carcass that is sending everybody mad, I shall be VERY cross and nobody will care about that Hmm

TeaMeBasil · 28/01/2017 20:24

Now, I've only just watched the first series, completely confused the entire time so had to read what I'd watched in Wikipedia almost every time...but persevered...

I think I have an icy, snowy, cold, extreme conditions type fetish going on (thanks to the book Thin Air by Michelle Paver, I got it for Xmas & was excellent!)

But I'm still all excited about it! Was over the moon to know series 2 was about to start....despite knowing i don't face an f'ing clue what's going on!

So my conclusion is, I'm here for the ice..

Jungfraujoch · 28/01/2017 21:47

We're binge watching here - downloaded the whole series - love it!!

NoMoreAngstPls · 29/01/2017 22:36

Binge watching the box set too. Currently on ep 7. No spoilers, but it doesnt get any easier to watch that's for sure!

Certainly is shocking! Watched it all now, bring on Season 3!!

PacificDogwod · 30/01/2017 21:38

FFS.
DH is now also hiding behind a sofa cushion - shaman guy in the shower tray doing what he does to himself.
I am SO not actually looking at the screen Hmm

IndigoApple · 30/01/2017 22:07

I've got to episode 7 too. It's grim! Missing the week by week chat on here as watching it on my own but hadn't the will power to wait!
