I'm not above enjoying some substandard TV (see my postings on many a thread) from time to time, but this was dire. Tell me I'm not alone in my view!

I found it seemed to skip a lot , there as no chemistry and Michelle keagan was way too polished for the role.

I was looking forward to it after a the publicity but found it odd how the leapt straight to wedding then to cancer?

She was lovely to look at but the accent was all over the place. She was either whispering because she didn't perhaps feel confident enough to attempt it, or slipped into full northern. Didn't the director notice? Didn't anybody care?! Loved the look of the whole thing, though, and the music.

Was waiting for a thread. I was disappointed. Turned it on 3mins late and expected a build up of how they met etc, but straight into a wedding, playing for England, baby...this was the worst example of itv drama and because I like MK usually I'd hoped she'd carry it. She had no chance.

She was so brown it looked like she'd just got back from a fortnight in Dubai (which she probably had) and nobody else was! Nobody! It was driving me almost as potty as her "southern" accent.

I looked up the real Tina and she was beautiful.
I only saw the last half hour.
Moore was a West Ham legend. Back when they were good!

Michelle K is in everything lately , she is pretty but annoying!

I watched this today.

It was quite strange in that it leapt from her seeing him in a cinema queue, declaring him not her type to them getting married.

It was quite good though, if a little dull.

Her accent was shocking! Shame as she is normally such a great actress.

I watched it after watching No Offence on catch-up. All I can say is that it was nice on a Friday night to watch something I could follow!

Was a bit leaden wasn't it.
Don't think we will bother with the rest.

I watched it. I thought it was a bit fast paced, also thought that her accent kept slipping into northern quite a bit.

I enjoyed it but agree with all the comments here. It didn't need to be 3 episodes, one jumbo programme would be better

Michelle and and lives in the area where Tina & Bobby wass set. Her husband and in-laws are from there. And she still couldn't pull off the accent.

She is a beautiful woman but as a PP said, too groomed for the part. Her HD brows, veneers and tan were off-putting.

They did make the point early on that Tina had had elocution lessons. Think her parents wanted her to have a career and make more of herself than just marry a footballer.

That does explain the accent as she didn't really have one.

DH and I enjoyed it as easy Friday night viewing. We did comment on how quickly it moved. But I think hey are going to focus more on the relationship going forward and the breakdown of that. Much more interesting than the boy meets girl bit.

I think a lot of the lack of chemistry was down to the fact at he didn't really communicate with her. Not telling her about the lump, or contract issues. He seemed quite closed off emotionally. Hard to have chemistry with that sort of person.

I've just watched 5 mins of this! Oh my goodness what a load of crap. Michelle Keegan's HD brows and sunbed tan are far too distracting. And as for the unconvincing CGI...

Nul points Tina and Bobby.

I am really enjoying it although it all seems a bit rushed. I would have liked to see a bit more of a build up. It was filmed near me and was excited to see the church I got christened and married at in the first episode ☺ small things..

Watched an episode of this last night. It's truly terrible.

It could've been good but they've made a heinous mistake with the casting. Michelle Keegan is awful in the role. She seems really out of her depth and her accent can't decide if she's from Manchester or Essex, plus she looks far too groomed and 90's WAG (rather than 60's WAG, I suppose).

Speaking of which, I hadn't realised Botox was so readily available in the 60's (Patsy Kensit, I'm looking at you). I don't care what plastic surgery or enhancements actors get these days, but surely the people who make these castings decisions should go for actors whose 'look' fit the period appropriately.

Apart from that though, it's jumping about all over the place. Shame, as I really enjoyed the Cilla one they did, I was hoping this would be just as good.

I liked the last scene on the tube last night but overall the series was a bit shit. I like MK though so watched it anyway.

I liked the series but I can't believe the way they rushed through what happened after Bobby retired. Surely that's where the real story was. He was a hero then got treated like shit by the football world. The breakdown of their marriage was more protracted and painful then shown as well.

MK accent was really poor. She did say however in an interview that Tina had elocution lessons as a child so never had a strong Essex accent. That said, I'm sure she didn't slip into a Northern accent either.

I was just going to say the same. Never heard of elocution lessons to make you sound like you're from Manchester Grin It did seem at times like MK was keeping her voice really low and a bit gruff so you wouldn't notice the accent as much. She looked stunning but I don't think it was enough to carry it.

Yes, she was almost whispering and mumbling at times. I do now wonder if she's that great an actress and her fame and popularity is more as a result of her quite stunning looks.
Surely if you're an actress you can pull off other accents? Isn't it part of the job description?
