I watched the first part, seriously in love with Laura. But surely one of her household did it.

Poor little girl.

Fruitcocktail6 Thu 22-Dec-16 23:24:11

Oh I missed it!

Scrumptiousbears Thu 22-Dec-16 23:28:21

What channel was this on?

KimmySchmidtsSmile Thu 22-Dec-16 23:30:43

The thread above stayed but a more general thread got deleted (possibly due to the potential for libel) but as with most true crime threads was deemed morbid. I have suggested MNHQ have a True Crime section so more sensitive souls are not disturbed but speculation being what it is, might not alleviate. Shame as some cases I do think are worthy of discussion. I read Kolar's book/AMA and found it convincing.

gaggiagirl Thu 22-Dec-16 23:39:36

Oh I missed it. Will it be on catch up?

AvaCrowder Fri 23-Dec-16 00:01:43

I think it was on more 4. They had a former fbi profiler pair up with s Scotland Yard trained Brit (Laura) and then all the experts who looked at the case when it was fresh. It was a really good show, but you just think, somebody killed that little girl. Why haven't they been caught?

Dowser Fri 23-Dec-16 00:10:36

I thought it was good. Part two tomorrow. Didn't realise the mother died 10 years ago.
It's very odd. So many unanswered questions.

gaggiagirl Fri 23-Dec-16 07:46:48

I've read a book about by John Douglas (I think) the FBI profiler, it was really interesting. I'll watch this today.

Manumission Fri 23-Dec-16 07:49:25

Is this a new documentary?

I can't find it. Has anyone got a link please?

franke Fri 23-Dec-16 07:55:43

I started watching this having not read very little about this case. I felt there were too many very quick assumptions being made especially when they were analysing the audio. I saw a headline in the DM a few months ago suggesting the brother did it with a subsequent cover-up by the parents. Is that what this programme concluded?

Poor little girl.

AvaCrowder Fri 23-Dec-16 09:00:30

the case of Jonbenet Ramsey

I'm a big fan of true crime podcasts.

Last Podcast on the Left (warning: it's not for everyone but their research is pretty solid) do a really good episode on JonBenet Ramsey. Might even be a two parter.

Think they reckoned the brother was the most likely suspect.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen Fri 23-Dec-16 09:20:52

I recorded it last night and will report back when I've watched it .

CalmItKermitt Fri 23-Dec-16 12:36:47

It's on YouTube - just watched part 2.

CalmItKermitt Fri 23-Dec-16 13:05:49

Really fascinating programme. It seems there were huge cock ups in terms of the investigation and beyond. Their version of what happened is very convincing.

yumscrumfatbum Fri 23-Dec-16 20:07:41

A few years ago I read a book based on the Ramsey case. It was a work of fiction inspired by the case (essentially the same story) written from the brothers perspective. I'd love to read it again but I cannot remember the title or the author. I think it was a female author and she had written other books in a similar vein. Anyone have any ideas?

expatinscotland Fri 23-Dec-16 20:18:55

The last thread like this was deleted for being potentially libelous.

Phoebex Fri 23-Dec-16 23:44:38

Gosh its extremely damning isn't it. I don't understand how the Ramseys refused entry to police & police interview for 4 months??

BeyondIBringYouGoodTidings Sat 24-Dec-16 09:57:11

I joined websleuths - threads are deleted often here on these kinds of subjects. Even when discussing a tv programme that was apparently not-libellous enough to air

Warning, you will fall down a hole for a few weeks!!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen Sat 24-Dec-16 10:18:12

Yep,I've lost days reading up on it on websleuths! There's also a question and answer interview with the detective who was on the case which is VERY interesting.

Saw the Burke/ Dr Phil interviews recently and got the feeling Dr Phil was only granted an interview if he went easy on him and didn't ask him any tough questions.

Burke came across extremely odd imo in a nodding/ grinning manner but then his mum was like that too tbh.

Even when discussing a tv programme that was apparently not-libellous enough to air

Yes, quitehmm

KimmySchmidtsFakeXmasSmile Sat 24-Dec-16 15:23:43

^ Except Burke Ramsay is allegedly suing both cbs and Werner Spitz if reports are to be believed.
I am more curious as to the content of the footage that was left out on legal advice.
And I still think a True Crime section in MN is not a bad idea.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen Sat 24-Dec-16 20:41:17

I'd love a true crime section.

PolarEspresso Sat 24-Dec-16 20:49:39

I'm just watching this - the "analysis" of the audio is ridiculous! Could have been anyone saying anything.
